Why do you like playing ESO?

If a friends asked you what you liked about ESO, what are the good points of the game, or what specifically about ESO appeals to you, what would be your response?

What is it about ESO that makes you want to log on and visit Tamriel?

What is it about this MMO that is better than the rest out there, other than the obvious, it is a TES game? :)

Questing is the best MMO I have ever played. PvP was awesome (from someone like me that hardly PvP in wow cuz I hate it).

The questing, the writing, to me it feels like a game in the series that I love.

The music is great, I always have a ton of fun when I group. For example, grouped up yesterday to do Direfrost Keep. None of us had played together before but we were so in synch. After finishing the last boss, I just stood and looked at the view of Skyrim. It was lovely.

I know this game has problems. But it never hampers my fun that I have every time I play.

I'm very excited for what the future will bring. More Tamriel!!!

I like the stories. They have some really good NPCs in the game, and I love interacting with them. I write fanfiction, so vivid characters are important to me; and beyond that, the stories and quests really spark the imagination.

I'm an exploration junkie, love exploring and finding new locations. (That and the above answer)

The 'obvious' IS the answer ! Despite my love for the game, I couldn't honestly say there is anything ESO does 'better' than any other MMO.
The PvP is limited, the Dungeons are all cut n paste similar, the end-game is too Group focused, there are no daily quests, no global auction house and VR has totally destroyed and faction pride and immersion.
BUT its a TES game... and I love it !
(ps Zenimax might at some point fix those bad points ! ! !)

    :/

EDIT - The crafting system, I do love the crafting system !

I'm a die-hard fan of the ES franchise so I was interested from day-one. I've been loving it ever since launch and playing since beta.

Also, I've been playing way too much World of Tanks and World of Warplanes so I need a change of pace.

That's easy, the *** combat is awesome unlike any other mmo! Which for me is the whole point.

But on top of that: Graphics, story, PVP, it's actually a challenge at times, crafting, Maps, exploration, solo dungeons. Did I mention the combat?

But most importantly the promise that it will get even better. I really don't understand the attitude on these forums. It's an amazing game even with the problems. People act like it's not, but it is and when the game is balanced it will be truly amazing.

wait, what? That's far to positive. Bolt......whaaaaaaaaaaa!

I can solo most everything one one toon and then turn around and duo with my best friend, taking on content ( world bosses, etc ) that I'd be unable to take on solo. Also, it's nice to run into another player or two while doing a particuarly difficult quest or delve and just finding synergy with another player. We just work together almost seamlessly. Some times those random encounters turn into RP opportunities and that's -always- a good thing.

It's about as close to Skyrim as an MMO can get and a better MMO experience than most I've played and I've play most of 'em. It's beautiful. The quests are fun and, while sometimes repeatative ( how many ways can you devise to collect bear asses without actually collecting bear asses? ), seldom boring. The mechanics are challenging, the game play fast and though not as smooth as I'd like, better than some. I enjoy the soft-lock / aim requirement, the way stats work and that crafting is meaningful and beneficial. I've rarely replaced hand-crafted gear with quest rewards.

Say what you want about class balance and zomg f2p!!, I'm enjoying ESO every bit as much as I did Skyrim, maybe more because there are people to share it with.

I have a core group of players in my guild that are dedicated to the game. Dedicated to finding and exploring every inch, unlocking every achievement, and killing as many bad guys/daedra/animals/etc. we can find. We each have picked a profession and lean on each other heavily for crafted items to complete our sets. We quest with each other, we share treasure, we have a bank full of motifs, and just enjoy the hell out of the game!

None of us are end game, V12, nor do we want to be yet. We are having fun just supporting each other and finding something new every day. Any time we find something like the nose dive achievement everybody shows up to show off their best dying skills!! I think having a group to play with day in and day out definitely makes a difference.

I enjoy the heck out of this game. I dig open world games and MMOs do them well. The questing is well done, and I've enjoyed the open world experience. And, I am a rabid Bethesda fan and will play anything with their name on it.

So far the game has had a great solo experience as well. And, as long as I can progress alone, I will keep playing.

I've recommended it to a few of my friends who I know played and liked Skyrim. But, could not pull them from the games they are playing now.

The questing, the possibilities with getting so many skill points, the community I play with, exploration that feels rewarding, crafting, and the fact that I can do everything on one character.

When friends have asked me about it in the past I usually ask them if they're the type that actually enjoy exploring, leveling more slowly, and reading quests.. or if they typically go through MMOs by clicking through all the dialogue and running from point A to point B, then killing so many monsters, or collecting things.. without ever really paying attention as to why. If they don't like that type of stuff, then I let them know they probably won't like ESO, but still recommend they give it a try as I don't believe anyone should base their opinion on other's reviews, even my own. What's considered fun is entirely subjective.

Skill flexibility, public dungeons and the type of PvP in huge areas and some of the Lore.

Also i am looking forward to the upcoming pvp dungeon.
It could go in the direction of DAOC Darkness Falls or Shadow lab the most amazing and biggest dungeons ever.

My favorite aspect of the game is the quests and the fact that all NPCs are voiced. I love sitting back and just listening to the NPC actually tell me what they want me to do rather than having to read it.

The game also caters to the competitionist in me. Not only in making all those map markers turn white, but with the achievements, research, etc.

I love it since I been looking for a game like this after 6 years or so in EQ.
WoW I did play for a few years, but the way they went....easier....was not what I was looking for.

ESO is my next Everquest, and I ONLY playing MMOs for the long terms.

Sure, Ill tried alot of MMOs, but if they dont catch me, or lack "the drug", I dont stay long, nor come back. EVE being the only MMO I play for a few weeks, every other year or so.

MMOs, I play daily or at least as much as I can.

I simply cant pick my favorite thing. I have to say ESO is my favorite thing.
