^ I'm referring to base stats, just raw damage output [no buffs, pots, passives, anything that compliments base damage, disregard mob resistance], what determines how much damage one outputs?
With the sheer number of posts and complaint threads about class/ability x doing more or less damage than class/ability y, you'd think more players would know the answer to such a simple question—apparently not.
Googling didn't return many helpful results: just others who were asking the same question and others replying with speculation.
For anyone interested, the closest I could find to an answer was this thread on spell power.
Apparently what they did when they created the system, they made a circle. On that circle with the different stats we see in-game today. Now to create their system, they take a pig and let it run around on the circle. They then count the pig's leavings and numbering them.
That is how they created the system we see today. Leavings 1 connect with leavings 2, leavings 3 connects with leavings 4 etc. That is also why so much doesn't make sense
Thank-you for that extremely insightful post. It is sure to aid and enlighten others for generations to come. You deserve a medal.
You're welcome. That was just the forumla for raw power. I am still trying to figure out the forumlai for melee and ranged weapons. Will update later. Stay tuned!
how is damage output calculated?
by watching the enemies health bar, if it goes down fast then you have high damage output. if health bar for enemy goes down slow then you have low damage output (usually low damage output is from nightblades)
