why have all my quest achievements been reset?

It would seem that the Craglorn patch reset everyones faction quest achievement s that they had completed back 0. I was just starting VR1 the day of that patch which fixed the problem of nobody being able to get the bangkorai achievement because the number was erroneously two high. But in the very same patch, which this company is becoming notorious for, they bork the achievements so you still can't get the Covenant Hero title.

But here's the kicker....if you did it after the patch you can. So newbies and people from other factions can get it before those of us who had completed it before the patch in our own faction can.

    Fun, huh? Welcome to ESO.

Definitely have the same issue here. Hit VR1 maybe a day or two before Craglorn drops and all mine were gone. Whoever is running the development of daggerfall content should probably be replaced ASAP. I can understand the initial issue with the quest but breaking everyone in the game is an utter failure.

Yeah, this one should be a sticky. Known, acknowledged by ZOS, and they're supposedly working on a fix.

It'll take a while because this is what they have to do.

Pull up every 'completed quest' indicator (necessary so the game doesn't offer you the quest when you return to an area) for every zone for every character for every player.

    Tally them up.

Add them into the proper achievement counter.

All without messing up anything else.

Presumably isn't not an easy encoding to break out, since if they do 'staging' on the quests, some quests have more staging than others, so a value 8 may indicate one quest is completed, but another is still on the 8th step... still active...

They have not been reset. And I'm appalled that it took this long for people to mention that.

It's a display-only bug. How can you tell? Because you still have any titles related to faction quest-completion. The game still remembers you completed the quests; the achievement just isn't displaying correctly.

The problem is that the number of quests completed have been reset to 0.

Here's what happened following the patch. I had, in Shadowfen, three quests to go before the achieve. After the patch, I went to 0 quests towards the achieve. I finished those three quests, and I have -3- quests finished towards the achieve.

It's more than a display issue. There's a counter issue.

Trust me, they already acknowledged this weeks ago (it became an issue at the Craglorn release). It's not an issue with the internal mechanics of the game. The achievement simply isn't displaying correctly. Period.

Let me say again. I was a few short of the achievement - so I hadn't earned it. After their foul-up, when the counter reset to 0, I completed three quests and it showed 3 quests completed on the counter towards the achieve.

So the 'achievement isn't displaying properly' isn't an issue because I hadn't gotten it. If it wasn't a counter issue, then why did those three completed quests show up instead of not be reflected on the counter?

If it was a display issue on the number of completed quests, it would be 0, regardless of what you did. The fact it increments correctly would indicate it's counting quests completed when you finish them. It just lost the -historical data on the counter-.

Agree with Nyswar, it's a counter issue. After the achievement reset to zero, any quest completed in that zone would add to the counter. The 3 quests you completed added to the reset total. Not a big problem for me since only Stonefalls and Deshaan were affected in my quest achievement journal (reset to zero) and I had already complete those zones.

I've seen the same thing. I was a two quests short in Glenumbra (the starting zone for me) because they were bugged when I went through during early access. So my quest counter reset to zero, ok display issue. However, I went and did those two quests, and now it just says 2/52 or whatever the number is. No achievement. I have the same issue with Bangkorai, Stormhaven, and Shadowfen.

I've also had some achievements removed. In The Rift I saved Joruun the Skald King (maybe it was Eastmarch?) and finished out those story quests. Cadwell's Almanac says that I have saved the king, but the achievement is just gone.

Guys, just in case you don't know, you're arguing whether it will be possible to fix something @ZOS_GinaBruno‌ said will be fixed with Monday's patch. Her response is buried somewhere in this thread:

Hey guys, apologies for straying away from this thread. It looks like this is scheduled to be fixed with patch 1.1.4 which is rolling out on Monday. After you finish patching, please let us know if you continue to see any errors with the achievements. Thanks!

Edit: It's actually on the first page of that thread.

Awesome that is great news. I've been enjoying getting some of the achievements, and it'll be nice to have them working again!

Finally!!! I had completed/cleared quest achievements in 3 zones and half of a 4th in AD on one character, and 2 zones and 58/59 for a 3rd in EP on another character. I hadn't even realized that not only had the counters reset but that I had "lost" the previous achievements until I went to turn that last quest in Stonefalls; when I didn't get the achievement progress message I opened up my journal to see that I no longer had 58/59 in Stonefalls, but 1/59.... pure torture for a completionist, especially with no way to re-earn those achievments.... Needless to say, I'm really glad they're finally fixing this.

Any fix for this yet? My achievements have been completed for each zone however they don't update in the parent achievement for 'Pact Hero' or 'Covenant Hero' which also affects the 'Tamriel Hero' achievement.

I used to have 4000+ achievement points... now I'm at 3700... Can't be bothered to search through my journal for the missing ones.

There's just soooo much broken in ESO, lol. Good thing I like PvP.
