The REAL Enchant Question...

Why is it that...

It takes
6 iterations of food creation
12-20 iterations of gear decon
20 iterations of potion mixing

but 100+ iterations of glyph making/deconning...

To rank up one level in a crafting skill.

Just wondering.

(numbers are close approximations)

The actual question is, why in the blue hell is enchanting so much more difficult to level up than any of the other crafting lines? You cant even say "because provisioning requires you to find recipes" or "alchemy requires you to gather plants for days"

Enchants are pretty rare drops from most mobs, runestone nodes are not exactly stacked in the back of a room like crates/urns, so whats the real deal here?

Why is enchanting so ridiculously difficult to rank up? (one guy in our guild has been fed looted glyphs constantly for over a month by at least 4-5 of us, and is still at rank 44, after all of that)

Explain.

Coming from a guy who max out enchanting (rank 47), it does not literally take 100+ glyphs to level up one rank unless you are making your own glyphs just to extract it yourself (which is a complete waste and not recommended).

Enchanting is fine. Yeah sure it is hard to lvl up enchanting, but it makes it a challenge. Most people do not like this challenge because it is not easy and so they quit. As a result, not many max enchanters are out there meaning it pays off a lot when you max out enchanting at lvl 40 (any level higher is useless, because at level 40 you can make the top tier enchantments). Keep in mind that each legendary glyphs for vr10-vr14 is anywhere from 6k-10k gold. So selling a couple of glyphs alone can give you your profits back quickly.

In all honesty, all the other crafts are a JOKE. It is ridiculously easy to level. Why make any craft easy to level? It takes the fun away from it as well as any profitable reward from maxing it when anybody else can just max it out themselves within a really short period of time? Trust me I know, I have 5 alts that are lvl 33-41 in woodcrafting, blacksmithing, and clothing (I prefer not to talk about alchemy or provisioning =_= sorry). With so many max crafters around in the other crafts, enchanting is the only craft left that is worth it to level.

Also, I notice you only mentioned about finding glyphs to level enchanting. Sure that is a "good" way, but the best way is to trade glyphs with other people to extract as a method to level enchanting (preferably green, blue, and purp aspects). White aspect are not worth the potency cost and yellow (legendary) aspect is too valuable to trade for just extraction.

Enchanting is then besides food/pots also the only real profitable thing to craft

I have to say that the developers really screwed up on leveling enchanting xp numbers, its not like purple enchants are easy to come by and I agree that they should really improve the leveling experience of enchanting, my other crafting skills are up to VR levels while enchanting and 90% of that leveling came from extraction while enchating is still stuck at 14m

To top it off, their is no server wide auction house so it would be very difficult to buy glyphs just the extract. What sickens me is the obvious need to go out and find someone to trade glyphs when all the crafting skills don't require it. I haven't met very many dedicated enchanters out there because they say this skill is such a pain and that most better enchanting can be received from vendors.

Finally for those out there who say crafting should be challenging, get off your soap box, thier is a difference between challenge and obvious time sink that takes to long.

If what you said was true then you would be stuck grinding materials weeks after completing the quests in a zone. Is that how you want to spend a pay to play game? Because if so then we should look at the leveling rate of weapon abilities and class skills if you want to claim that your mastering something should take ages be fair all around.

Finally we have a much heavier time sink is researching traits from gear. So there is plenty to keep you from being a true master to having a max level number of a crafting skill.

Enchanting doesn't have research. woodworking/blacksmithing/clothing demands about a month of research just to make a couple set pieces. Being able to make VR12 gear is useless without at least 6 traits.

If you take into account the difficulty of researching traits, enchanting doesn't look too bad.
The 'level' is only half the story.

I've got enchanting up to the point where I can create my own legendary glyphs - which is fine.
OTOH, I still need several traits to be able to craft set gear so really I'm finding it harder to level clothing and woodworking in real terms.

Provisioning is also difficult - I haven't found enough recipes for it to be really useful even though I'm theoretically at cap.

(Thank the gods for Alchemy - Rejuvenation Potion anybody?)
'Clever' sigs get old real fast - just like this one.

The main issue in enchanting — lack of materials. ZSO really need to add a much more runestones or respawn them more frequently.

There are some places where the mobs seem to drop glyphs quite often. Usually group public dungeons. If you can farm the trash without dying you can get quite a few of them to deconstruct.

Best way get some high level glyphs to deconstruct.
One tips is your enchanting is below you level is to first deconstruct drops, then send the runes and the runes you collect to some guildmate with higher level enchanting, have him make runes and send back to you for deconstruct, this boost your level fast.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.
