The Enchant Question

After a night of destruction, mayhem and fun, my regular group all attained level 32.
(Thank you...thank you... hold your applause until the end of the presentation. j/k)

We set off to forge new gear. After creating the 3-piece set for Ashen Grip, I went to enchant them, I had brought my Glyphs with me. To my surprise, the "70 Max Health" turned into "28 Max Health" (see the lvl 32 armor in the image below).

OK. I am sometimes NOT the sharpest tack in the box. I had previously not paid attention to the final numbers, I just selected the Glyph I wanted, and Enchanted the pieces.

My friend proposed a theory, that the enchant was based on a % of the item level. So I made a level 40 piece, since that was the top end of the enchant, and to my surprise, as you can see, it was still 28.

We then theorized that it was also based on the item upgrade level.

Upgrading the item level did nothing to increase the enchant toward the "70 Health" that the Glyph claimed.

We then thought it was based on my meager level of 32.

I logged in my level 46 character.

Shock.

Disbelief.

<rubs eyes>

The enchant STAYED at "28 Health".

Under what condition does the enchant ACTUALLY give you the indicated bonus?

Under a Full Moon?

Sacrifice a Chicken?

Sacrificing a Virgin? <good luck finding one>

My Blacksmithing level is 28, could that possibly be it??

Could it be that the Enchant is tied to your Blacksmithing level at the time of the items creation? If so, then the max you could actually get would be 50, a % more if you created your Armor with the Infused attribute.

The wording on the Glyph should say "Adds up to 70 Health"

What are your thoughts?

Gloves, belt, and boots only receive about 1/3 of the enchant value. Chest, helm, and legs receive the full value.

Nothing new, it's always been like that. A quick search would have given you the answer.

The "large" pieces of armor receive 100% of the glyph effect while the "small" pieces of armor only receive 40% of the glyph effect.

In fact just asking in /zone would have given him the answer.

I didn't know this either, and it took me AGES to find a post about it anywhere. And I must say, if a glyph says "Adds 99 health" it really should add 99 health. If you get less on "smaller" pieces of armor, the tooltip should bloody-well say so.
