As the title suggests can we have better patch notes please.

1. If you increase or decrease the cost/damage/damage reduction/crit etc etc of a skill or ability please tell us the old cost and the new cost and the reason for the change.

2. If you change a percentage value of a skill can you give us the old value and the new value and the reason for the change. A good example is the catalyst skill in the recent patch.

Giving vague non-committal notes isn't very helpful. It can lead to a lack of understanding and/or confusion. We need detail, percentages, figures and reasoning. Please!

It's better for 1 person (YOU ZOS!) who knows 100% whats going on to post proper patch notes than a quarter million people to google, or try to discover this information in game. People will be unable to find it or get it wrong or just end up confused. Please prevent that by posting comprehensive patch notes.

    I can not add anything because you are just right, i have no idea whats the motivation for them to post such lacking patch notes and also add like 10 stealth changes for good measure. It is just ridiculous.

    totally agree! I also agree on the stealth changes to things in-game that are mentioned. They just *** people off and it's not like we wont find out about them so just be upfront.

    Completely agree. If there is a change in stats, we should know how much. Unless they themselves don't know, but we should know that too.

    I agree. I also think ZOS should make a post every week about what they are currently working on. We do pay $15 a month after all.

    Well patch notes everywhere as far as I've seen have been very generic, more or less just telling that we touched this. Agree as being person who likes to have as much information as possible and then maybe do own comparisons etc more data would be nice.

    Example from Battlefield patch notes, they are not any better:

    WEAPONS / GADGET TWEAKS
    -Increased the damage of the normal buckshot against targets with Body
    Armor.
    -Reduced the vertical recoil of the M4 and M16A4 to give these burst fire
    weapons a tighter burst accuracy in their mid- to long range role.
    -Reduced the side-to-side and first shot recoil of the G36C. This weapon now
    has the lowest side-to-side recoil of the carbines, giving it a clear controllable
    low rate of fire role, especially when compared to the AK5C, Type-95B-1 and
    the AKU-12.
    -Tweaked the detonation time of the 40mm LVG so it bounces less before
    going off. The maximum damage has however been reduced to 80 like the
    RGO.
    -Reduced the number of how many 40mm HE and LVG rounds players can
    carry, from 4 to 3.
    -Increased the time it takes to get new 40mm round from ammo boxes. The
    time is longer for HE and LVG grenades and shorter for utility grenades like
    SMK and FLASH.

    While I would love for them to actually post accurate patch notes instead of vague ones, it's never going to happen. It gives them leeway when they make changes and helps them slip in stealth nerfs.
    Is it better to out-monster the monster or to be quietly devoured?

    Also kinda tired of them leaving out the most significant and game changing updates from the patch previews. Like a 300% reduction in the effectiveness of ultimate generation from crits. Completely surprised us with that one. Did they just pull that out of their hat at the last minute?

    Yes, it makes it easier to find that changes is intended or bugs.

    This is very important for gameplay mechanisms,
    graphical improvements and bug fixes don't need detail descriptions and this might be hard too.
    Grinding just make you go in circles.
    Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

    If something is nerfed or buffed just say so, and by how much in mathematical terms.

    After a little thought on the matter and seeing as there is no reply, I've decided to unsub.

    Too many cheating ex Emperors, to many abusing bugged abilities in trials claiming its player skill, bugged and unworking abilities and screwed up class balance. Add that to the deafening silence from Zos and I just don't have confidence in you.

    Thanks for the fun times, I enjoyed the story while leveling up but but the game at max level is terrible, hacked and exploited.

    1. All numerical values for abilities change as you level (both your character and the ability). So there's no way for them to give an accurate number on that.
    2. If you can read in-game, you can see what the change was. Does it really matter that you couldn't read it right before the servers came up again?

    And for the love of Talos people, stop creating these ridiculous "You'd better respond, or I'm taking my ball and going home," threads. The moderators on this forum are not here to post in a thread every time some genius figures out that they can tag them in it.

    Hi, you should not skip Math class.
    There are a few methods to communicate numbers that change due to formulas at work...
    Also the reason is not that we are unable to find out what has changed, but to verify it was intended.
    Also a changelog is nice, and one would think such a thing exists anyway, but maybe not.

    - changed Bolt Escape, also did something to its morphs
    - Crystal Fragments is different now
    - Stamina based Weapons now do a bit more damage but also cost some more stamina

    Also for the mathematically impaired, this is how you communicate changes for Skills that change numbers while you level:

    A: does 10x(Level+(VR*10)) damage
    change to 15x(Level+(VR*10)) damage

    Patch Notes

    - A now does 50% more damage across all Levels

    Incredible, isnt it?
    (Because i think this will be needed: This can be done with very difficult formulas too... If you can not, it is because you dont know what you do.)

    Obviously it's possible otherwise it wouldn't be in the game...what we mean is they don't post the formulas because then people would complain that they don't understand what it means and how it works. Before you know it Zenimax would be teaching night math classes.

    I don't think I have ever seen a game post their formulas in forums. If anything, players figure out the formulas and post threads about it.

    They dont need to post the formula, they just need to post how they changed the skill e.g.:

    - Increased damage by 10% at level 1 scaling to 50% increase at V12

    You see? Exact Information without "giving away" the formula.

    Also with most other games interfaces and/or APIs you could figure out whats happening, but how do you know what the hell 80 Critical reduction is or means?
    And conversion rates of ratings into stats are posted or published in guides.
    As are some more complicated formulas, and there is no good reason not to do it.
    For example why not publish scaling of weapon damage with stamina and of spell damage with magicka?
    In my opinion it is just to hide the fact that it is out of whack, what other reason could there be? Why not explain in stat popup what every point of stamina does?
    How should a player make decisions without such basic information, why does the game not simply auto assign all my points?

    They could just say "was buffed by 10% or nerfed by 5%".... everyone would understand that..

    The % numbers would be taken from base values @ level 50 or something.

    I like todays patch, some nice stuff there but the patch has a lot of vague information in it.

    Please go into more detail.

    For the Players and subscribers out there, please add your voice! comment here that you want more detailed patch notes and keep this thread up top so it's always up top, this is crucial that the current policy is changed early on.

    The thing that agrivates me is they only post about 1/4 of the changes they do. Leaving us to figure out what else got changed. What good does this do!? Along with this, ZOS blatantly lies about server downtimes. And another thing, don't tell me I will have skill points refunded and send me in game mail about it only to make me spend 20k to do a total respec because my skill got nerfed.

    I just wished ZOS listened to the real players, not the loudest.

    If they put more details in the patch notes then we would catch them out on mistakes more offen. They add more bugs then they fix in most large patches, so to save 'egg on the face' the patch notes are ..... limited.

    Here is a perfect example for the current PTS patch notes:

    Dark Elf Passives

    Flame Talent: Ranks II and III of this passive ability now provide the correct amount of spell damage bonus to fire attacks.


    What??? I assume this is a nerf but certainly can't tell from this note.
