When will teaming be fixed?

When will the teaming/grouping be fixed? It is almost incomprehensible to me to think that someone would approve of the current design.

My friend and I just bought the game about a week ago. We decided to make characters that will exclusively team together. Pretty early on we found that there were several missions that we couldn't participate/help/see each other in. The only thing visible was a triangle over his head so that I could see where he would be if he were in my instance.

Doesn't this fly in the face of what being an MMO is? We can't help each other in a game that encourages teaming. We're unable to team together for many missions in a game that encourages teaming. It's almost like half the time this game is an MMO, and the other half of the time its a Massively Online Single Player Role Playing Game. Doesn't that sound ridiculously backwards?

I'm just curious when they're going to fix this? I suppose "fix" may not be the correct word, as apparently this is the way it's meant to be (which completely boggles my mind). But this really needs to be changed ASAP.

Yeah, I started a couple of threads on this.

Sadly, they degenerated into personal attacks by those who don't want to see teaming in currently solo-only dungeons. The longest one appears to have disappeared, which is fine with me.

But in answer to your question, I've heard whispers in the wind that ZOS was considering allowing teaming in currently solo-only instances, but we'll have to wait and see.

    Thanks for responding!

I can't believe the amateur hour going on with team design. Why in the world would you create a "solo only dungeon"?? Wouldn't it be infininetly better to make a dungeon instance both soloable and teamable? Like ... if you want to solo the dungeon, it automatically scales to your group size (which is one), and if you want to team in the dungeon, it scales to your team size.

This is MMO basics. My friend and I tried to come up with a game that had worse teaming mechanics, and we literally couldn't think of a single one.

Any solo only content is pretty stupid. They need subs from casuals too and the casuals who can't do the solo only will get owned and leave out of frustration.

I couldn't agree with you more. Not only is it nice to be able to help your friends in an MMO, but it would be nice to just be able to play with them in an MMO. I've found that this game is half MMO and half MSPORPG (Massively SINGLE PLAYER Online Role Playing Game). Why not make it a full MMO?

Its not just the solo only dungeons that are an issue, I can live with a few if I have to. But grouping in general is borked. In some quests that require you to 'collect' items sometimes all members get credit when one person gets the item and sometimes each member has to collect their own.

Dialog is messed up as well, it seems like each person has to talk to the NPC but if that triggers an event then often the first person to reach the trigger will cause the rest to abort the dialog.

ON and on, seriously this plays like a single player game with kludged grouping tossed in only because it is expected in an MMO.

Everything you have said. I completely agree with you. I suppose, if I had to, I could accept maybe solo only for the main quest line. But you're totally right, there is more than just that that is wrong. The collecting and the dialogue options are also absolutely stupid.

I bolded part of your quote for emphasis, because it is so true.
