If they reset when they became emporer then everyone would get it and it would be trivial. no doubt its a terrible system as is but wouldnt be any better that way. Its just a system that wasnt given any thought when they put it in, like so much else
Two changes:
* When you become emperor this instantly costs half of your points - however, you can decline the promotion once (e.g. RL reasons) if you want and will be pumped down point-wise to 5th place.
* Because of the point loss you get guaranteed time to actually be the top dog... say 12h account playtime or 2 days real time - whatever runs out first; keep ownership during this time is irrelevant. After that window keep ownership kicks in again.

3 people on Ebonheart EU got it repeatedly.
Hilariously, one of them quit the game completely but had so many points he still got emperor twice without being around.
This made me laugh.wenxue2222b16_ESO wrote: »Just like in real life. Power, once gained, rarely moves.
Boosting has been deemed an exploit in the past by ZOS. If you know the names, report them.
Also from the players I have known to become Emperor's many of them PVP like crazy in legit ways to earn the AP to be in the top ranks. I remember this thread from last year and most it basically came down to "I want to be an Emperor, but I don't want to compete/work for it".
It's meant to be something special obtained by those who are good and dedicated.
My advice to anyone who does not believe what I have said ... go play Haderus and see for yourself.I think having shorter campaign lengths would be better than resetting points during the campaign. I get that some people spy between alliances or work together. However getting Emperor is mostly about being able to spend more time PVPing than others.
