Why are goblins human sized in ESO?

Goblins from oblivion were small and ape-ish (lack of a better word to describe their motion) and now in ESO they look completely different. Sort of the same size as orcs but much much thinner?

Any reason they felt they needed to make them different? Personally I liked how they looked in oblivion better.

Personally I liked the small goblins better. I don't know about most people but I prefer my goblins smaller than human size. That's almost always how they are depicted in any fantasy genre.

I really don't understand why ZOS decided to do a 180 and change how they looked from previous games. /shrugs

Because its 1000 years prior. So they can make the enemies smaller and it be less taxing on peoples hardware and still be able to say they evolved to larger monsters in that 1000 years.

    I don't think you understand.

Goblins in oblivion are like half the size in height compared to the ones in ESO. Oblivion takes place after ESO so if anything they got smaller not larger.

Why are the giants so tiny compared to the ones in Skyrim?

They have a couple of giants in the game of the proper height, no idea why don't just use the models.

The goblins in oblivion were just as tall as any imperial, they always were hunched, but still just as tall.

They were roughly the same height as the player in Oblivion, I believe it's an illusion created by their physical dimensions but they were definitely eye-to-eye with, at least the shorter races in Oblivion; there were a few rarer Goblin mobs that were taller as well.

The fact that they're less primitive is simply 1000 years of de-evolution of them and their culture. If they kept being driven to caves, its no wonder they appear the way they do in oblivion.

Edit: One of the quests in the Alik'r mentions Giant Goblin-kin, so they used to be even bigger.

some would say that, evolutionarily...most started out small, grew large, and will return to small.
This is all part of the game.
