Too many NPCs have spells that make me say "wtf did that even do?"

I was fighting some illusionist and he threw a skull at me.... okay.... What did that even do? Other than make red swirly lines appear on the edges of my screen. Can I check that in my passives? Nope. WHAT DID THAT EVEN DO. Same with PvP. I get hit by something and I have no way of telling what that even did. Death recap doesnt help. It implies I already know every skill in the game. Wheres the skill description? Death recap is kind of useless without those key features.

Leaning what the animations represent is one way. Using a combat addon is another.

Combat addon will tell you at least what type of damage it is.

I always figured that was an Auto attack, much like the staffs the worm cult carries, it just does damage

Seems like a perfect place for me to jump in and beg for a detailed combat log. It's not like I haven't been asking for over a year, now.

Yeah, this game does pretty much nothing to inform you of what lingering effects or damage enemy abilities do. It's quite annoying. Mods help, but it still only gives you a partial picture.
