So by some small miracle I managed to get my hands on a Barbaric motif book at a fairly low level and thought it might be interesting to take a look at, only to find that I need to be able to craft at the seventh tier before my character can learn it.
I can sort of see the point with Daedric or Ancient Elf, but after looking at the armour design are you seriously telling me it takes a master craftsman to understand the concept of wearing bits of bone haphazardly stitched to some torn leather scraps? Are all the savage mobs out there shopping at some tribal version of Hugo Boss?
Also, if you're not going to let us craft them when we can make use of it, why are there even low tier versions of those motifs when we will clearly never have a reason to make them? I guess I could craft some for lower level players, but that just ruins the whole point of restricting it in the first place.
I don't actually care too much about this as I came across the motif fairly arbitrarily, but it's this sort of thing that just ruins the immersion for me. Motifs are just books that tells you what the fashion is with certain races or groups, you're still working with exactly the same materials and it still takes the same crafting skill to make the higher tier stuff. There's literally no reason at all from a roleplaying perspective to have restrictions on them.
