For "Nature Slayer" Achievement, Where Do We Find Creatures?

RozMayan
RozMayan
The "Nature Slayer" achievement requires us to kill the following:
  • 500 beasts
  • 500 insect-like creatures
  • 500 lizard-like creatures
  • 200 plant-like creatures
  • 100 water-based creatures
  • 500 chitinous creatures
  • 50 netches
Where can we find water-based and chitinous creatures? To me, those seem to be the rarest and most ambiguous.

I believe mudcrabs count as chitinous creatures and those are plentiful. Nereids count as water based, and those a bit harder to find depending on your faction and level.

Not sure if carapace-bearing critters (spiders, wasps) are classed as chitonous though they should be. Chitin is an exoskeleton, like the shell of the crab or an insect.

Thanks! Mudcrabs and spiders unfortunately do not count as chitinous creatures in terms of this achievement, and wasps I believe count as insect-like.

Edit: Sorry, I was mistaken. Mudcrabs do count as chitinous creatures. :D

Hmm that is disappointing about mudcrabs, I assumed they were chitonous. I am going to finish off this achievement as well, so I'll need to rethink :#

EDIT: They do count! I killed some random VR1 mudcrab in Auridon, it added to my total.

Nereids are the only water-based as far as I'm aware, didn't manage to find any other.
Chitinous, your best bet is Dreughs, thats how I completed it.

Just wanted to chime in and confirm that mudcrabs are chitinous creatures. I was looking at this achievement and couldn't think of a good chitin source except mudcrabs, but I thought there was no way they'd count...But they do! Water based is def the hardest though.

Today I got 2 achievements. Explore the whole Eastmarch and find all lorebooks in eastmarch. I did not even know either of those excited, but it was nice to know I been everywhere, and found every lorebook. 2 Skyshards still aludes me.

Anyone ever tried to play to have fun, and not go by a list what to kill, where it is?

    Thanks for confirming!

I currently only have 14 water-based creatures killed, and I am almost positive that I have killed far more than 14 nereids. Nonetheless, I assume based on everyone's feedback that either I or the game was just going crazy. Thanks for confirming everyone!

Edit: I was the one going crazy. I was thinking of hoarvers, not nereids. I don't even know where to begin looking for nereids. I tried searching Google images to even see what they look like, but no go. Any ideas?

Fyi, Dreugh count as chitinous creatures as well. They are harder to kill than mudcrabs, but there are bigger packs of them.

edit: i see aenthel already mentioned dreugh B)

Also, as this is confirmed (by me at least while I was working on getting the title), and absolutely annoying as hell when Storm Atronachs are included.
To get the kills count towards the achievement, you need to be the one to actually kill it, and by kill, I mean the very last hit performed on the creature to eradicate its presence.
Farming groups definitely do not work, randoming or pugging or any other groups, sadly not, you need to perform the very last hit so that the kill is registered for the achievement.

There are nereids in Grahtwood (AD) They look like water based spirits, humanoid in form but a little transparent, you find them on beaches, by waterfalls and lakesides usually . I'm not sure how many are in other faction areas though.

I've seen them in every faction's zones to some extent. They are usually near water features as you point out, like waterfalls and small pools in streams/rivers.

Attention Zenimax: Stamina builds don't hold up to magicka builds, and this is causing most of your class imbalance. It makes melee weapons and bows weaker than staves and class abilities. It makes medium and heavy armor less desirable than light armor. Fix this imbalance, and you'll address most of your balance issues.

Starter island of DC is better in my opinion, you can find here tons of mudcrabs. I finished this achievement in few minutes. ;)

Nah. They have to be made of water, like nerieds or ice wraiths.

EDIT: There is one quest, I cannot remember where or what level, where you get to kill a lot of nerieds. It's the one where there this lady sends you to this cave to help them, but a dremora stops you and tells you what is really going on. You end up deciding on who to help if I remember. I want to say maybe Bangkorai?

A Bangkorai dungeon has Dremora Servants of Hermaeus Mora outside desperate to stop the adherents of a Nereid from sacrificing their minds so that the Nereid is made stronger. There's only one Nereid there.

I'm surprised no one has said "In nature" yet.

There are many insect creatures in shadowfen, lizards are all over stonefalls as well as chitanous creatures if those firebugs count as those, Plantlike creatures you can go and slaughter stranglers in the aldmeri dominion area, I forget which area has more of them, theres also a delve in the aldmeri dominion that has a lot of nerieds in it and I also forget where. Netches are everywhere in the first few areas of Ebonheart pact area.

I ran around Kenthari's Roost (I'm AD so it's level 3) and just 1 shotted mud crabs for that portion of the achievement. Took me about 2 hours or running around the coast nonstop to kill the 400 I needed.
