Leave the bosses alone (heck, some of them could use a buff), but the difficulty of veteran level "trash mobs" - the NPCs & monsters you need to kill to get to your quest goal, boss, whatever - is way out of whack. There are countless threads about this specifically, there are threads about the overall poor experience of veterans levels in general and this problem is mentioned in reviews on other sites as well. And it is a problem. Some sentiments that you see repeated often:
- “All too often it leaves a feeling of "thank God that is over" instead of "yes, I did it!"”
- I loved playing level 1-50, but I hate veteran levels.
- This is the only game where there higher level I am, the less powerful I feel
...and so on. These are not characteristics of a great game.
Simply reducing the difficult of these trash mobs would go a long way toward improving the overall experience of veteran levels. As we've seen in previous patches, this is something that can be done without having to rip up and rewrite of code -- the recent rollback of the "mistake" in 1.1.2 suggests that it can even be done without a patch at all.
Now I know the next 40 comments are going to be something along the lines of "your (sic) a child", "lrn2play", "git gud", "I like it, don't change it or I'm quitting", etc., etc. but I hope you will think about the experience of the average player and consider doing something for them that will drastically improve their ability to enjoy the game.
