Unhappy

I hope someone from Zenimax or Behtesda read this. I have played Elder Scrolls games since Hammerfell and thoroughly enjoyed them. I have spent over 2,000 hours on Skyrim. One of the better games. This game TESO is very disappointing, I live in Australia so the game cost me $90.00 which I feel was a waste of money, and I am expected to pay Zenimax $15.00 a month to keep playing. I know there will be a lot of people that will disagree with me, and I respect their opinion and I am sure there are people that will agree. My point is I find the game very frustrating for a person that plays on their own, I joined a guild which has been no help, my main problem is I have never played Online Games before and I have no friends that play computer games. All the hype before the game was released was saying you can play alone. Rubbish, just about every quest I have done when you have to fight the Boss expect to die half a dozen times, I don't call that fun. I am going to unsubscribe because I don't intend to pay Zenimax any more money to cause me frustration, real life cause enough of that. I play games for relaxation and fun. I am positive there are lots of people that are enjoying TESO and good luck to them I wish it wasn't so frustrating.

Sorry to hear you face these frustrations. Sure sometimes the bosses can be tough, but it wasn't game breaking for me, sometimes just needs to change the way we deal with the boss in terms of tactics etc.. So far I haven't had any issues except with one boss that got stuck inside a tree.

Many thousands of people have soloed all the way to max level, and I've had no troubles getting to 40+ by myself. The problem seems to lie with you, in this regard, maybe you need to check your build or your tactics or whatever.

It's tough you live in Australia, but Zenimax isn't going to be able to help you out with that. As for paying a (omfg!) whole $15 a month, I was paying the same sum each month for an online game back in 1999, so the price today seems pretty decent to me. I wish a beer cost me what it did 15 years ago!

Sadly MMO games might be fun, but are rarely relaxing. I played Swtor before this, which is soloable, and was fun (until I finished all the stories), but I can say with my hand on my heart, it was never relaxing.

Sadly Australia has lag issues that make most western MMOs more frustrating and less fun (or so I understand). Short of learning Japanese/Korean and playing one of those MMOs, I can't really sugest anything that would help.

So, this just seems like a "I don't know what I'm doing" type of situation and you felt like making an "I Quit" thread to seem important...

I've soloed virtually everything and even did Coldharbour / the final main quests and a few Vet maps naked when Rapid Gear Decay was a massive issue - rarely died. This game (with the exception of group dungeons at times) is soloable.

You need to refine your tactics / setup from the sound of it. Also about the price, that isn't Zenimax's fault, blame your government, and $15/month is the generic pricing for MMOs for a very long time - maybe you should have done some more research on TESO if you have money issues?

Go into zone chat and see if people can help you out or just wait a few minutes for other players/groups to appear and ride their coattails.

If your guild is no help to you - drop them.

How to fight bosses in ESO:

    1. Can boss be CC'd?
    You're good. Anything is killable.

    2. Is the boss a solo mob and immune to CC?
Skip the quest if you're a templar

    3. Is the boss in a pack and immune to CC?
Skip the quest unless you're a DK or sorc

Some bosses you can cheese by backing up and spamming light attacks with a staff/bow. Play it your way man.

Quitting threads are against ToS so you might want to look at that. You say you joined a guild. Try adding the other 4 guilds you can join. There are several for every taste. Try buffing your toon. Collect more skyshards for points. Redo your armor and enchantments. Experiment with foods, drinks, and potions. In non solo dungeons follow others around. You get the benefits of being grouped without the hassles. If your original toon is totally gimped try rolling a new one. Some race/classes are easier to play than others. Try a different faction. There are lots of things you can do other than throwing up your hands and screaming that you are quitting. Kinda like giving in to the Daedra.

I'm a fairly casual player and I have soloed every quest in every zone in every faction (1-50)
Get some better gear, change your tactics and do some research on your class.

    Good luck.

You are aware that Australian players have the worst lag?, and that it's probably that lag which is getting the OP killed, rather than his playstyle.
