Bright colored icon --- PLEASE

When you have a quest and you tell it you want it to show the object of that quest on the map --- PLEASE MAKE IT GREEN OR RED.

The map is covered with white icons for all kinds of stuff, and some black ones as well.

It is darn near impossible to FIND the icon for the object of the quest.

PLEASE MAKE THE ICON GREEN OR RED --- PLEASE
If I wanted a Signature I would have a Signature --- but i don't want one so I don't have one.

Somehow I feel this will end up like GW2 during alpha. They wanted input on how people that are colorblind could see things and then they changed it into colors that I couldn't differentiate.

Green and red are two of the worst possible color choices you could use for this, the next being blue. Those are three of the most common colors for color blindness. You never want to use a basic color for something like that.

There are other colors that can be used, though.

Never thought about color blind people. Good point. But there needs to be some way to make it stand out because now it is buried under / among all the other white icons all over the map. Perhaps they could make it flash / pulse or something. Sure needs some kind of fixing.

Or you could always click on the quest in your list to the right of the map. That zooms straight to the icon. It is a whole extra click, but if you're having that much trouble seeing...

I always put my player marker down on top of the white or black ones.-- it is green and follow it. I only follow my own markers. I just put mine on top of anything I want to go to -- white or black icons, towns, dungeons etc.

A simple work around -- I did the same thing in Oblivion and Skyrim.

I don't understand what you mean by player marker. And how can you put it down on top of the marker the game makes when it can't even be found ( easily anyway oftentimes ) because of all the other markers?

I discovered that there is a filter that allows us to hide certain icons. You can tell it to not show shards that you have already found. There are various settings to show or not show several things.

THIS is a big help. I removed the icons for shards I have collected already. Why keep them showing when I don't need them?

Would still like to have an icon for the target that shows up better, but the filters really help a lot.
