How heavy are heavy attacks?

Has anyone figured out which averages a higher dps over a given period of time, all heavy, or all light attacks? My feeling is heavy attacks yield less dps, so I'm only using them to initiate a fight or when the enemy is dazed.

Might be related to +dmg weapon enchants not scaling, if that's the case.

if your talking about the basic attacks, to me the heavy is to slow and not worth the small increase in damage per hit over light. judging purley on how it feels, and watching the enemies health bar id say (duel swords) light attacks due more damage per second.

If you really want answers to questions like that get the Tactical Foundry Combat Addon.
'Clever' sigs get old real fast - just like this one.

If you analyse you will find that heavy is not as high as all light attack in the same time.

There are exceptions when an enemy has been blocked or interrupted, heavy seems to always crit or do multiplied damage then.

I had the same question, need to maybe parse this especially in melee since heavy attacks actually take longer and in the long run you waste more stamina with less return. This is another gripe since now when you die, Death Recap will often tell you to use heavy attacks which I am not sure will actually yield more dps.

Thank you for that link, seems like heavy is an inch better than light, even though it feels weaker to me. That info is pre-release though, so the numbers may have changed.

I'm hoping to get answers from someone who has tested this with a dps meter, as I'm staying away from addons till the game's more stable.
