Is there any reason for 25 quest limit?

You can only have 25 quests in your journal even though you could carry 25 suits of armour. Is there any reason for 25? Would it really be OP if you could have 500? To me it seems like It's just an artificial limit that serve no purpose other annoyance.

    I wondered this as well, there is no reason whatsoever there should be a limit on quests accepted.

    I don't really know if there's any reason for a limit of 25 quests, and I don't see why there should be, but... Why are you picking up so many quests without completing them? I doubt I've ever had as many as 10 quests in my journal at once.

    I like to explore regions and always pick up quests to do before I go to the next region and when you add in quests from Cyrodiil, it's easy to have more than 25. I guess it's a matter of playstyle. Also, when I play with friends, we'll trade quests to find ones that we can do together. I don't really see any reason why I should have to drop quests and then go back to find them again.

    I think it is some sort of interface limitation. Almost every MMO seems to have a 20-25 quest log limit (yea I know there are a few exceptions)

    I also had found this troubling. I would explore a lot in a new region to get the mats for a new set, then quest. While exploring I would pick up all the quests I come across.. However often hitting the limit and getting annoyed.

    Just a complete guess, but I would imagine quests are more complicated than suits of armor. For each quest you have in your journal, the world must be modified (an NPC that's suppose to appear/follow, quest markers, stuff that should happen differently when you trigger it, etc). It may be more computationally expensive to constantly be scanning for your quests and how they should interact with the environment. One character doing it, no problem - a million doing it, and we've got issues. Again, this is just a guess...

    25 seems to be the de-facto standard in most MMOs. Probably just an arbitrary number chosen when development decides how much space each player/character database entry will consume. I'm sure they could increase it to 50 or 100 if they wished. But at some point it's just overkill. IMHO 25 seems a reasonable number. To get anywhere close to that, a player would have to make a concerted effort to gather quests and ignore completing them.

    There may be some technical limitation, but I can't really imagine what it is. I'm thinking it's one of those things they put in because everyone else does.

    25. Per Character you have. Times the players we have.
    Make the math, this is a hell of a lot of data the Database has to store already. And most games have a limit around 25, so it is a solid value to pick from a Gamedesign/Programmin point of view.

    The cannot allow you more space on the server then you already take. But they did gave us the Addon API for just those cases;
    http://www.esoui.com/downloads/info461-HouseofWinters-QuestJournal.html
    I can only detect quests you take/throw away/sovle while it is there, but you can manually mark of quests if you feel like it.
    And for sharing with allies, it even shows you original questgivers location. So you can share without them having to skip the Dialog (if they do not want too).

    The way I figure it the system already has to record what quests each character is eligible for/has completed. It's not big in database terms to store quest status and whether it is in the journal. The face and body features of your toon is massively greater in datasize than the quest log.

    Seriously, the data for the status of 2000 quests is miniscule.
