Stop messing with the Nightblade class, that isn't the problem.

That video only proves my point. That nightblade is wearing cloth and only has one stamina ability on his bar.
The only reason the NB in that video was able to do that was because he is using shadowy disguise a lot through out the fights, which is is only able to because he is wearing cloth and clearly is using a magicka based build, just look at his magicka regen!
Go try to do that in medium armor with a stamina based build, you will be OOM after spamming shadowy disguise twice, and then you will be SOL and those mobs will stomp your face in.

He is wearing 5 pieces of medium armor and 2 pieces of light armor with magicka buff!

As well he has leeching strikes enabled , that means damage malus and his main dps is coming from whirlwind with help of cloak for dps stop and great CC support from ultimate.

Nothing wrong with that kind of hybrid ... But its not easy to play one mistake and you are dead and its very limited, you cannot use this build for every pack.

But that was not the point in the previous post!

I take it you know the NB in that video personally? Cause that is the only way you could know that he is wearing 5 pieces of medium armor, especially since he has his head piece hidden.

And I still fail to see how that video doesn't prove my point, which is that stamina builds on any class are not as viable as magicka builds, and that AOE CC is critically important in veteran solo content. In that video, he is using all magicka abilities, save one, and the only reason he is able to spam that one stamina ability so effectively is because of his extensive use of the magicka abilities, specifically shadowy cloak which boosts your stamina regen. Also, he is using the AOE CC ultimate ability from NB (I forget the name or the tree it's under, but I know you know which one it is), which only serves to support what I said: that AOE CC is critically important in veteran solo content.

If he is wearing 5 pieces of medium armor, you have to agree that he would still benefit more form wearing all cloth armor, because he is using mostly magicka abilities, and the passives from cloth armor would give him greater benefit for that particular set up he is using.

Thank you for this thread. I think the Nightblade class skills need to get fixed as well, but there is a definite imbalance between stamina and magicka builds at the moment that also needs attention.

Someone else already pointed this out, but I think it is very important so I'm going to reiterate it. Everyone needs stamina for breaking CC, dodging, etc. So if you use your stamina for abilities instead of magicka, you will frequently find yourself needing to decide to fire a Magnum Shot off at the guy chasing you or save the stamina to break the CC he's going to drop on you as soon as he can.

Magicka builds don't have to make choices like that, and this is the root of a fundamental imbalance between the builds.

It doesn't matter if stamina based abilities are buffed to the level of magicka abilities. This fundamental issue will still make the stamina builds weaker than magicka builds becuase you won't be able to actually use the buffed abilities as much as magicka builds can use magicka abilities.

One other way to (somewhat) fix this would be to boost the gain from putting points into an attribute, in particular stamina. If we acknowledge that stamina – due to use for CC break, stealth, running and dodging – is far more general purpose for all classes than magicka, then it would make sense that stamina should scale more like health than magicka as you put points into it.

Attention Zenimax: Stamina builds don't hold up to magicka builds, and this is causing most of your class imbalance. It makes melee weapons and bows weaker than staves and class abilities. It makes medium and heavy armor less desirable than light armor. Fix this imbalance, and you'll address most of your balance issues.
