Just a small test that I've been conducting for the last 2 days.
Apparently, for some magical reason, Artifact (Purple) Quality items are more powerful than Legendary (Yellow) Quality items. However, that is only effective during a fight. Tooltips increase (for armor/damage/etc), but in an actual fight there is a roughly 10% decrease in power.
I've done these tests as V12 and with the help of some other guy on V10, apparently, upgrading your item to legendary actually decreases your damage.
I'm using Dual Wielding, other person was going 2H, and while using a Legendary Quality weapon, your damage actually receives a 10% decrease from the tooltip, which ends up making you hit less than when you are using a Artifact Quality weapon.
As a Dual Wielder, I've tried 2 Legendary Swords, 2 Artifact Swords, 1 Legendary & 1 Artifact Sword, all at V12 and with same enchant, same skillset, no buff/debuff on me or the target.
For Flurry;
2 Artifact (Purple) Swords hits higher damage compared to 1 Artifact & 1 Legendary.
1 Artifact & 1 Legendary Sword hits higher damage compared to 2 Legendary.
It actually took me longer to kill the same creature with 2 Legendary Swords compared to 2 Artifact Swords (I timed using the same skills, with no crits and buffs/debuffs involved, in case FTC was broken for some reason)
Same issue is also applicable to 2H, Bow and 1H/S. I have not tried Staves but I highly doubt anything could possibly be wrong in Elder Sorcerers Online.
But again, as I've mentioned, this test was only done with 2 people, so it could be somehow totally isolated case or, at least melee users, might have received some sort of stealthy "Go away, melee is not wanted and your Legendary swords shall be reduced to nothingness in the world of Mages" debuff.
EDIT: On a separate try, 4k HP V8 bugs in Greenshade, takes 4 Flurry to kill with 2 purple, 5 Flurry to kill with 2 yellows (no crits, no buffs/debuffs).
EDIT: Also seems I've forgot to mention, that decrease was also happening in 2H, with a V10 Legendary 2H Sword, tooltip damage is 237, actual hit is 223. Seems a smaller decrease compared to DW.
