ESO is not group friendly.

The phased maps make it seem like you are affecting the game world wonderfully, but they also stop friends from being able to play together if one party has completed a goal that the other(s) have not. There is no way for the people left out to assist their friends at all. There needs to be a way for players to enter the same phase as the people below them on the the progression.

If you are grouped, they should make it where everything is presented from the perspective of the person who has the lowest progression on the quest.

It's not solo friendly either for 95% of builds

It is however bot friendly and bug friendly so I guess thats something

Still think they should have in-game chat. If someone spams, mute. the end.

It's a good way to get to meet similar people to you. That's how I met some "online" friends I have - via xbox live. Guild chat (teamspeak, mumble) is kinda dumb, unless you're actually friends with them.

I also have had problems when others in my group choose a different response than me so they then get phased differently after that...

I'm having real big issues with the grouping in this game too. Not being able to help friends and guildies complete quests that I've done before is just a mind bogglingly dumb design.

I am trying to think of something that it is friendly toward.

    Maybe casters?

Group/quest phasing interaction is horribly designed. It's so bad, I tend to doubt it was designed at all. They took a single-player mechanic and tried to shoe-horn it into an MMO without really comprehending the impact of it. No one could possibly have consciously designed something this bad.

Its not group friendly? Except the 10% added exp you get from grouping with anyone (except on quest turn ins), I group quite often.

My favorite still are the instances. I dont do them over and over and over again, but around my level, I find the instances very enjoyable. Its like a miniraid for all levels!

The sad part for me is that I only got this game because three of my RL buddies wanted me to play it with them. Now only one of them still plays at all and only on Saturday mornings. The others left because of this very problem.

The problem isn't that ESO is not group friendly, it's that the people who play ESO is not group friendly.

I could be standing around 20 people waiting for a boss to spawn in the world, and type /say hello everyone! or /say been waiting here long

Or something else that is just plain open ended for anyone to really make a comment on... yet silence. Then when the boss pops everyone attacks like rabid dogs.

Funny, I almost always get a response. My friends list is growing every day because of that. Maybe you are just unlucky?

Maybe. Or maybe people just forget there is chat in games nowadays.

ZOS knows about the phasing issue and they are working on it. Don't expect the solution anytime soon cause there really isn't a GOOD clear solution just dumb work arounds.

If you cleared all the Daedra from the city and its full of towns people ......Helping your friend fight the Daedra in the city DOESNT make any sense.

So HOW to fix that issue with phasing is a touchy issue internally I imagine.

The given solution from players is allow to me to go to a group members phase but I don't believe the devs like that solution.

Perhaps the Devs will like not having players more.

Maybe they had a globe of see into the future and knew that designing the game to be more solo friendly was the way to go?

I really doubt they are worried about losing players at the moment as they have the console version of the game on its way meaning they have money and potential money on the way.

I agree that they are banking on the console version since the game was so obviously designed more for a console player, but with word of mouth about it thus far. I doubt they have the sales they want.

    .

The whole single player main story line and badly written single player quest text makes just as little sense, but that doesn't seem to bother ZOS.

I really doubt that. A game like elder scrolls and console players will have NO clue about whats going on in the PC version.

Even IF they know about the issues some will think.... who cares they will have 6 months to work the bugs out.

I have played since early access with my girlfriend. We have had zero issues with grouping. If you take a moment to enjoy the quest line and make the same impacting decisions you won't have any issues with phasing. Too many people skip through the quests and don't even bother reading, then you will have issues. Honestly, its not the devs fault and it shouldn't be something they have to fix. If you want to blast through the game and just level up, go grind mobs, there are plenty of guides for that.

I would like to see the ability to phase to the group leader. Honestly, I don't have this problem a lot though and my friends and I are all at different points in several quests. Mainly it seems like the main quests and guild quests cause phasing to my experience, and they are generally easy and quick, if you're skipping dialogue.

You have no idea what you are talking about. Grouping and phasing issues have zero to do with not reading the quests...ZERO.

There's a way to be in the same phase, it's called teleporting. Also, the game's supposed to put you in the same phases as most of your guildies/contacts (At least I read that before launch)

The real problem in grouping is the leader problem. The groups lose their leader so fast (even when you add the first person) it gets really frustrating.

What we are talking about is not about being in different map shards, and can not be traveled away.
