WoW lets you suspend and resume your sub. You should ask CS if eso allows you this option. If they do, great. If they don't, perhaps if a lot of people ask for this option, ZOS will implement it.

I was wondering about this myself also, if i cancel my account for a couple of months what ever reason it is, will i be able to continue where i left or they will wipe the characters we worked for 2 months?
That's how long ESO has to make melee builds viable.
I've already gone back to SWTOR for the time being but I'll give them my sub money for 1 more month. If after that, the bot issue and achievement issue, isn't under control then I'll let it lapse for a few months.

I think you misunderstood the post you quoted. Of course they will not delete your characters if your subs lapses into unpaid status. What welifeboil was referring to, is that you can have 40 days of game time left on your sub, suspend it therefore holding on to those 40 days, and resume it at a later time. With the current model, those 40 days will continue to tick away whether you cancel your subscription or not.
