Woke up to the best email ever! *falsely banned*

So i woke up this morning and checked my email to read the following:
PL9A0AS.png

Since Monday i was unable to play and after 4 tickets and being on hold for 40 minutes with customer support i was able to get my problem resolved. They never told me why and i never got any warning that I was banned.

Apparently I am not alone and ever since the last patch a number of players were auto banned for a mysterious reason. I'm only Veteran rank 2 and never used exploits or farmed bosses or locations. Only played the game like it was meant to be played.

Regardless I am now able to play once again, so for anyone that is experiencing this problem please just have some patience and if you have done nothing wrong it will be resolved.

Thanks for the support.

I agree that patience is needed but this is something that Customer Support should put as a priority. I had (Yes had) a guild member that loved the game, didn't do any exploits (boss farming, nothing) and was banned. (I miss him because he was one that grouped with me often, that's how I know he didn't exploit)
That was three weeks ago. Account issues should be dealt with much quicker.

Just so you guys know, they don't ban for 'exploiting' (i.e. boss farming). If you got banned it's for suspected serious ToS violations like RMT, botting, or hacking.

Server booted me for "spamming" the other day...I was all alone making my way to a solo dungeon and started a fight with some NPC mob and halfway into it they stopped responding....I couldnt attack them either so I went about my way and about 15 seconds later I was botted to login screen with some pop up saying something about being kicked for spamming lol.

I dunno wth that was about but I logged right back in and kept on questing.....well after I ran the dungeon I was headed to.

It's kind of scary to be the victim of automation...I have never sold a thing in game, I break it all down or sell to vendors...think I gave a couple blues to some IRL friends way back...

I guess I am glad they have taken measures to insure our player experience is as good as possible but when it starts falsely booting players...well it's kinda scary.

I've seen quite a few mods that will do this to people. You see nothing on your end, but the server is being subjected to a blob of rapid fire spam for one reason or another, it's usually due to outdated mods or sloppy scripting.

Now that I think of it, Bryong's situation is most likely the same. Part of their automated bot detection scheme is probably based upon analyzing the behavior of bots, who undoubtedly use custom mods as part of their farming process. A mod that spams the pants out of the server for any reason could potentially look the same as an improperly scripted (if harmless) mod a typical player would use.

Now that you mention it this did happen shortly after i used the lore book location mod. i wanted to get to level 10 for the mages guild so i used the mod that showed the location of the lore books i missed.

I've been using that mod for weeks, to no effect. All this mod does is place waypoints with custom icons on your map, which should only involve clientside oriented things. Are you running any other mods?

    Just curious =)

Farming bosses was never a bannable offense. =D If it was, every game would be banning a very large chunk of their player base (That and ZoE has came out and said it wasn't against the rules).

Actually, exploiting - spindleclutch - is a bannable offense. Says so right here.
Farming is not. There is a difference, you know. What makes you think they won't ban for exploiting?

Just thought I should point out that discussing why you were banned can get you another ban. Even if the first one was wrong.

They probably won't do that, but be very polite in how you discuss it, just in case.

Because every single person I know who has taken advantage of the Darkshade Caverns exploit, fungal grotto exploit, and spindle exploits (a lot of people, into the hundreds including entire hardcore guilds) is still playing.

Killing the same mob over and over is not a bannable offense. Now, if that boss gave you a skill point every time you killed it, or the EXP gained each time you killed it was waaay above the norm so ou gain quick experience, then it's exploiting. Constantly killing it for a chance of certain items to drop is not.

In fact, I do not really need FTC or other mods and they can go too.

The "group challenge" in Razak's Wheel was bugged to where you would get the skill point for killing a specific mob, this mob was not the end of the challenge and would just repop and allow to be killed again for limitless skill points. Every thread that was posted on the Customer Support forum was removed within an hour.

Shortly after (sarcasticly) they hotfixed it.

    http://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/discussion/87283/4-25-14-hot-fix-note

Too bad no one who abused this exploit ever got in trouble. This was also when they were farming gold mats from all the loot that was also dropped, though this wasn't exclusive to Razak's Wheel. Yet more people who abuse exploits and just sit back and enjoy the rewards. Seems to me exploiting is the way to go...ZoS doesn't care.

Here's a question, where are gold items more likely to drop? I've been playing for hundreds of hours and I have yet to see a legendary piece of equipment.

I have no idea what triggered the ban. The lore book location add-on was the only mod I was using at the time and don't like using mods unless I have to. I was using the mod out of date though. I never did any exploits, never killed the same boss over and over, never was abusive or harassed anyone. And I have only been in the PvP are for a total of 1 hour max because I don't PvP much so it couldn't have been from there. AndI'm only veteran rank 2 and haven't been to the new area yet.

I'm really clueless to how it happened and I'm starting to wonder if it was completely random.

I believe that Legendary items never drop, they have to be crafted.

Correct. The closest thing to a legendary drop would be the mats from the hiring.
