If you guys add an illusion line or a transformation line, I want the polymorph goat spell.

I want to be able to polymorph one enemy into a goat. :)

Thank you. :D

Don't remember a polymorph into goat spell, I remember Wabbajack but that's random.

    Grab a Wabbajack from Sheogorath.

But polymorph is WoW. I do however hope they add an illusion skill line. That would be a welcome addition for Sorcerers.

    Polymorph is not just WoW.

    Have an open mind.

There's at least 1 other NPC other than Sheo and the Wabbajack that can cast spell polymorph chicken ingame already, so, why not

I'd like a "Summon Stibbons" spell. He can do all your provisioning and clothing crafting for you while you go off skyshard hunting or just sleep off the most recent mead binge.

    That would be cool.

Maybe if you started calling it something else?

Because when you say "polymorph," my eyes mist over with blood and I start seeing WoW-Kung-Fu-Pandas floating in front of my face.

Edit: Also, is there a basis in lore for this? Players haven't ever had access to that kind of spell in prior games, to my knowledge.

Yes, I see an NPC in a scripted event using a spell. I have not, however, seen any player character in an Elder Scrolls game have access to a spell like this. And come to think of it, I've never seen an NPC use a spell like that outside of specific scripted events.

I'm not saying it wouldn't be a neat party trick, but I've never really considered that spell to be part of the Elder Scrolls universe.

If an normal NPC can do it, we should also.

There is also items in the game that let you polymorph.

Besides, don't let hate of another game get in the way of adding a spell to this one.

BTW, I just want to say that Nirn is a great big world. We have only played on a small part of it so far.

Calling out that known lore should limit us to what we can do in the game seems really silly to me.

In a post in beta I said a mimic would be a cool monster to have in ESO. People screamed it was not in the lore.

My question is, does lore say there has never been such a creature? No.

Again, Nirn is a whole planet and we are just on one continent called Tamriel.

And again, I'm not opposed to the spell as a nifty trick. It would be fun. But the series already has a very established lore that is distinct from the traditional D&D-based lore you see in other RPGs. That's a good thing, as far as I'm concerned. So when I hear about mechanics/spells that just seem to be in imitation of that traditional school of thought, I get edgy. The more unique they can keep the Elder Scrolls universe, the better.

Not particularly, because they established a clear storyline for the dragons that was radically different from the traditional dragons seen in fantasy.

I really don't understand why you think I'm disagreeing with you. I think the ability would be neat. I just want the developers to exercise caution when adding things to the game that haven't been established in the world already. I'm playing this game because I don't want to play WoW anymore.

Can't find a reference, but in another thread someone said it was in Morrowind, I can find a Oblivion Mod for it though.

Also there are several instances in this game were NPCs are polymorphed by spells.

Edit~ just found a reference to it in a walkthrough for Daggerfall, so it was in that game

I don't think anyone wants WoW, but that does not mean you throw every idea out just because it was in WoW.

BTW, I don't think there was a polymorph goat spell in WoW.

There is a spell in Skyrim that turned a guy into a dog. In ESO people were turned into rats with a curse spell.
