Notifications of other players times

I belong to 4 trade guilds that have players like myself and others that belong to a main guild. However many of us use these trade guilds specifically for trade. Not conversation. It is why we have the chats disabled to any guild not our actual guild.

This of course, ZOS, is your fault for not allowing us to have an AH because as with many other aspects of this game you decided the best path to go was to make an mmo that played nothing like an mmo should, things like acceptable group questing and working content , etc. I digress.

Back to my issue. I do not care 2 rat's monkeys about what other players' times are when they complete AA or any of the new crag content. So can we get a disable for this? Not for notifications of course because then I could not see group invites. Not that those are useful in this game either but they are needed in cyrodil to run with your group and travel to players in delves.

Kthanx for reading. Hop on this, it is annoying. I get it, you want people to latch on to some false sense of achievement and competition by seeing these times but it is annoying. you have leaderboards for those that really care what these times are.

Within 5 minutes of logging in just now, 9 notifications about players times. -.-

    Holy crap, this is annoying.

I have to agree. This is beyond annoying. Why is there no way to turn these notifications off? I'm in 3 large trading guilds with guild chat OFF for a reason so I don't want to be spammed with notifications every few minutes about trials.

Really starting to wonder about the thought process or lack thereof. It's like someone gets an idea about something and then nobody takes the thought experiment to the next logical step or conclusion. Hmmm...set up a system that forces people to join multiple guilds..then annoy them with spam and no way to turn it off. Brilliant.

I agree that I would like a way to disable this.
I did a /feedback in game about it but I'll support this thread to.

Having notifications come up with no reason as to why then only to be like "Hey someone else did this thing!" isn't helpful to me at all, not sure where in development that team involved thought spamming players with notifications they have to stop everything they're doing to check, then have no option other than "check leader board" or "remove" was a goo idea.

I'm normally a defender of the game and ZOS actions but this was a pretty badly thought out idea when the game is made in a way which forces you into multiple guilds.

Not sure what that has to do with the topic. We are not talking about people logging on. The topic in question is regarding in-game notifications when someone in your guild does a trial and gets a "time". It sends out these notifications to everyone in the guild whether you want them or not and seeing as most people are in 3-4 trading guilds..they don't care about some random group of people in said trading guilds doing a trial and don't want to be spammed with notifications every 5 minutes.

For the love of the Divine's can we PLEASE have an option to turn this off soon.

Trying to PVP and all I have is "ding" "ding" "ding" "ding" because I'm in trade guilds.
If you want to have system which encourages players to band together and form large trading guilds please don't implement obnoxious messages every time people from those guild complete a trial.

Simple thing - ability to turn on or off some or all messages. I don't care when a guildmate gets a good time in a trial - even if I know them. I don't care when people log on or off. Silly stuff. Give people the option to turn on or off what messages they want to see.

    Thanks OP!

Really? Wow, yet another reason I have to be glad I'm not in any guilds. Go figure.
I am not spending a single penny on the game until changes are made to the game that I want to see.
    1) Remove having to be in a guild to sell items to other players at a kiosk.
    2) Cosmetic modding for armor and clothing.
    3) Difficulty slider.
    4) Fully customizable player housing that isn't tied to anything in the game other than having the correct resources and enough gold to build. Don't tie it to PvP, guild membership, or anything at all. Oh, make it instanced so as not to take up world map space, too. Zeni screwed this one up already.
Any /one/ of these things implemented would get me spending again, maybe even subbing.

Well, it's a bit like the mail notification. You don't actually get a pop up, just the chat bubble icon discreetly blinking away. I won't deny it is annoying in the sense I am not really interested, but doesn't actually disrupt game-play.

Having said that, I am only in the one trade guild, so probably get 2-3 a night, which I just open and cancel at a convenient moment.

I get a noise and some other distracting crap on my screen to steal my attention.

I'm just saying it's invasive, unnecessary, unwanted, unwarranted and un-welcomed. Crap. I should have started with an 'un' and left out invasive.

Maybe something I have done with audio has the added benefit of muffling the noise. Though now it is there, I may just start noticing it. And like I said, only the one trade guild and only two guilds in total, so I don't get that many to make it too intrusive just yet.

Not having played the game in months now I was surprised to get emails with notifications on this old topic. But yes. I agree with everyone about an ability or toggle to turn this off. Most of all in trade guilds.

Trade guilds overall are not social and they are the creation of developers forcing us into sects to buy/trade or flog, gear/mats and services. As of course it was the cheapest way to develop a game that was AH free, therefore using no resources to support a server wide market. So having to use these types of guilds it would have made the most sense to allow the GMs / officers to have a toggle concerning guild spam. Yes, notifications ARE spam. It is a forced message we have no control of getting.

I know this was the very bottom of issues the game had (has, I just don't play anymore so no longer care what else is broken/annoying) but it was annoying enough to have a negative effect on all of the groups I pvp'd in. Offering an option to disable the sound without having it lumped in with other useful game sounds would have been acceptable. It had gotten to the point where you turned off sound to stop hearing the damn ding and you lost that extra useful ability of hearing enemies near you in Cyrodil.

Although to be fair, the 5 guilds I belonged to in the end were still capped at 500 players but were all but entirely inactive players by then so the notifications had stopped. Look there ;) players created a solution, they quit playing! LOL

Have a great week all, hope things have gotten better.
