the vail falls bug

just got to the vail falls quest (VR 6 for me) and in the objective: clear the first room, attacking one guy causes the whole room to charge me, this is 6+ guys that should be out of aggro range. I submitted a bug report but is this happening to anyone else? it is completely impossible to complete being dropped in 2 seconds, cant even kill one, die, repeat.
