An Unknown Error Has Occurred

Whenever I try and log in to my VR2 Nightblade in Stormhaven the game crashes back to the log in (User Name/PW) screen with the message "An Unknown Error Has Occurred". However, any of my other characters I choose on my account lets me log in with no issues. Please advise on why I cannot log into my VR2 char. Any help is appreciated.

    Same here, does it on my v10 and lower level chars.

    This same issue is happening with my VR2 Dragonknight - also in Stormhaven.

    I do remember the game getting really laggy before I logged off - I usually have about 45 FPS and it dropped down to about 7. I quit the game and restarted it and am no longer able to log into my VR2 character. My other characters seem to be fine (they are all lower than level 10).

    Also seeing this issue. I entered a cave in the northwest to start a quest and first time I entered nothing would interact, so I logged off and back on. When I logged back on I could talk to the quest NPC (a ghost) but my FPS was really off for some reason. So I logged back off, rebooted and now I can't log back into that character. Waiting 20 minutes, tried again still can't login. Can login to any other character. Also Nightblade, VR2, Stormhaven.

    Did some more searching, found I was in Windrage Cave and my issue has been seen before. Previous victims say you have to get support to move your character. Will pursue this with a support ticket. Reference:

    Last Update: Support moved me out, playable again. Did some testing with Windrage cave:

    1) First time you enter, character cannot interact with anything, sneak or sprint. Cave is empty. DO NOT LOG OFF IN CAVE, this makes you stuck. Run back out of the cave and relog, you can get back on character and re-enter the cave
    2) When you enter the cave again, you now see creatures and can interact but FPS takes a HUGE nosedive (70 avg down to 10). You can fight and play this way but the quest objective monsters do not appear. Again, zone back out of the cave before logging out.

    Going to file a bug on this and avoid it for now. Hope this helps others.

    Updating this topic because I ran in the same issue yesterday.

    I went in Windrage Cave with my new character, and experienced a big fps drop (from 60 to about 10). I logged out to check if there was an issue with my computer, found nothing wrong, tried to get back in the game.

    I got an unknow error, tried to wait 15/20 mins, unknown error again. So I logged in with my other char and contacted support. Very quick answer, I was talking to a GM 2 minutes after, and he immediately moved my blocked character to another spot. That's the good point in this story :smiley:

    Afterwards, I asked in zone chat if some people had had the same issue as me, and got several positive answers. You guys should look into this cave, must be cursed or something :wink:

    NB : Still managed to complete the quest though.
