New werewolf - Sanies Lupinus 7 day counter direct after bite and before quest?

Hello, i got the bite from another werewolf-player at the shrine. In the character screen i see the Sanius Lupinus with a 7 day countdown counting down.

As i did not start the following quest to get the werewolf-skill line i'm wondering what this countdown should mean? Do i have only 7 days time for the quest? Will the disease disappear? Is this a known issue/bug?

Does anyone experienced this too?

If this is true I really hope they did the same for vampire. Vampires are literally everywhere. Not only do they have a far better skill line, utility wise, they also have a much easier quest.

I believe you misunderstood the question, Oronell.

Yes, it is a new feature, for both vampires and werewolves. You have to take and finish the quest before seven days, or the buff will disappear and you will have to get bitten again. Not sure why they added this, it's another insult to TESO lore, though. "You got bitten by a vampire ? Just wait a few days, it'll get better"

Misunderstood? Not really. If this is an effort to keep the disease in check i.e. to prevent the lowest level of players from getting it, then it should be applied across the board especially since it is much easier to become a vampire. So I am glad to hear it applies to both skill lines even though vampires can still complete their quest much earlier.

I agree that it goes completely against the lore. It would have been better to have the disease cause the afflicted to experience some type of debilitating effect after seven days (marked decrease in stamina and/or health). This way they are still forced to either complete the quest within the allotted time or seek a cure if they are unable. But that's just my opinion.

What you said there was PLAYER. Being bit by a player induces a 7 day duration. Being bit by an NPC and contracting the disease, results in an infinite time to complete the quest.

This is Zenimax basically saying the player-induced bites are not as potent and may wear off...

But...if you get bit by a player its your choice....so shouldn't it be the other way around?

If ya think about it though,

The NPC Werewolves that can infect you have pretty much completely given into their bestial nature. The player on the other hand is just coming into maturity as a Werewolf. The disease the NPC carries would be stronger as the NPC has gone pretty much primal while the Player is still 100% the Player they were.

If you dont complete the quest in 7 days of ingame time... Then maybe you shouldnt be a monster.
There have been like lvl 14s, perhaps even lower, that completed the vampirism quest... Easy as it is...
Personally I completed the werewolf quest at lvl 20 - not very easy mind you...

Getting to those level ranges does not even take a 7 days. 2-3 maybe if you are slow like me.

It's been in as long as I remember, for one(all three of my werewolves got this timer).

And two, werewolf can be done at 20 or lower(did my last one at 20) and vampire can be done lower than that.

    Just takes patience.

That's interesting, maybe just for players bites. First time hearing of someone completing WW quest at 20 or lower. Must have an amazing build and/or gear. I completed it at 27 and I had to keep trying until I got the Mammoth.

Well I completed "Hircine's Gift" at lvl18 with a full set of lvl 18 Leather Armour (Green), a lvl 18 Greatsword (Green) and lvl 10 health potions. It took me a while but I had enough Dps to take down the Frost Troll before he killed me. The WW encounter can be very hard, at lower level, and this because it's all about luck. The miss chance from your level difference makes the encounter a game of chances.

    I dont understand.

I got bit, have the werewulf skill line, and did the quest. But Sanie Lupinus is still counting down in my character sheet? Why is this?

i think the count down may just be there as a reminder to finish the quest, and doesn't know when you have. this is just a hopeful guess though.

The countdown is probably showing the time left until you yourself can bite another player and infect them.

If you dont finish the quest within the 7 days after you're bit, you lose the disease.

Took him down with crappy gear at level 18, was some storm monster? Wasimuto or some ting. I didn't even have chest armour. just circle and use speed to kite away.

Now I have the the ultimate and skill line but my timer is still ticking, quest not done or?
