Can’t Change Password

I just started ESO on my XBox One. It won’t let me link my account because it’s rejecting my password. I can’t update my password because it won’t accept the last name of my favorite author. How can I update my password so I can link my accounts?

Currently there are issues affecting players logging into the game and website. This may be affecting your ability to update the password. Please try changing the password after the login issues have been resolved.
