Daily Fungal Grotto lags

matthiasmssb16_ESO
I just went Fungal Grotto with my Guild. Its unplayable! Skills doesn`t work, Animation are delayed for several seconds. If you want to free someone from chains, adds doesn`t get any damage. If you get bound by this blue band and start running away from each other, you are pulled back.
Those are no minor lags anymore, this game is broken since update 1.6! Doesnt matter if Cyrodil or PVE, ZOS just did a very bad job with implementing this update!
Before the update, there were lags too, in very stressfull situation for the sever, but never that bad! Those problems suddenly spiked after this update! It worked before the update, after it, it suddenly does not! Very obvious, that the update broke the game/server performance!
And what we got in the last few weeks with those smaller patches? some costmetic and minor bug fixes. Nothing about the serious performance problems with the server!
If the performance issues are caused by opening the aoe caps, just get them back! Better a functioning system, then this "......"

When can we expect some progress or even information about fixing this?

I'm currently testing out a possible fix for this that has to do with Windows Defender. I saw a post that contained this fix yesterday but cannot currently locate it again. If your using an Antivirus Program like Mcafee or Norton you can turn Windows Defender off or you can add in ESO as an exception to it. I have only gone through one dungeon so far and the lag that I had was minimal. It was Wayrest Sewers which I haven't really noticed much lag on before so that's why I'm still testing it out.

It couldn't hurt to give it a try.

Also please see the post below and add a reply with the information that @ZOS_MollyH is requesting. It will help @ZOS research the issue.

We had the second boss disappear after ad phase for about 2 minutes. It was nice. I got up and got a drink lol.

Today's FG vet pledge was far and away the worst I've experienced lag wise - skills freezing halfway through the animation, or animation playing but registering no hits. Bosses freezing/porting all over the place. This was about 8.15 BST. I did the normal pledge immediately afterwards though - absolutely no lag whatsoever..

I believe it does hurt, because it detracts from the real problem. This is just some more victim blaming typical of support services (e.g. "have you reset your router, sir?"). You'd have to work very hard to convince me that this is a client-side problem when all members in a group experience the issue at the same time, and the problems in PvE have piled up since the 1.6 and 2.0 patches.

Oh I hear you. I've actually created a post that's ongoing for the lag issues in the game. That's why I am testing it further with the other dungeons that have always been a problem. I don't have as much time to play during the week as I'd like to.

    Greetings!

When reporting lag issues in a consistent repeatable area like this, in order to investigate it properly, please be sure to not only submit a /bug ticket with the following information, but please feel free to answer these questions here so we can forward the information along to get the best information we can for our engineers.
    • What is the character name you are on when experiencing this? (if it's more than one, please use the one specifically related to the rest of the questions)
    • What realm you are playing on when this occurs? (EU or NA)
    • Where are you when this happens? (zone name and general location within that zone. If you are in a delve or public dungeon you are not in Greenshade for example, you are in another zone - please list as specifically as possible where you are!)
    • When is the EXACT time it occured? ‘Around 5 maybe?'is not accurate enough to research, but ‘Saw it at 5:34PM EST’ is. Also, please be sure to check your clock to make sure it is set accurately. If your 5:34 PM EST is really 5:50PM EST then we may be investigating the wrong time.
    • What were you doing, and what did you see? Please provide a description. If you are in the middle of a lag spike, do a /say and report how that went as /say is the easiest way to ping the server and get an expected response. It can also be searched by our developers, so is even more helpful.

Thank you again for letting us know!

After reading many of these threads describing lag in vet dungeons, I am convinced that it is a time of day thing. Which means that it is probably a server load problem.

Being in an Asian time zone, I usually do the gold key daily at a time of day that is about as far away from US primetime as it gets. And I haven't experienced any lag whatsoever while doing these dungeons.

Client crashing, yes, but not lag. And crashing (mine at least) seems completely random anyways.

I had the same experience. We did Darkshade Caverns during US primetime and we were getting massive lag. Later, we returned after midnight and the dungeon ran smoothly.

Had exactly the same issue and started a ticket: EU Server ~9:15pm solved it by regrouping and resetting the Dungeon.

Whatever caused the problem - its not a player or time of day problem.
It worked fine until a recent patch - so its a *** ZOS problem with bad coding and poor patch testing.

Sorry to jab after ZOS like this, but they are making Things worse with every patch.
Its like they fix 1 thing, and create 2 new issues. A few weeks ago we had no PVE lag.
And in the beginning PVP ran great with the double amount of players.
    Now its all FUBAR

Actually, it seemed to start with the start of B2P. So it's possible that the problem is a large influx of new and returning players that are overloading the instance servers during primetime or something. Still, that is a ZOS problem...nothing that we players can fix.

    Yesterdays lag time:

    - Must have been around 21.30 pm CEST. Cant give a more exact time, but i wrote this post directly afterwards.
    - Realm is EU
    - Char was Fynia N.
    - Not only my group had this Problems, also other Groups from my Guild, doing dailies at the time.
    - It`s not a "single" Lag Problem anymore, it a general Problem with the whole server, since update 1.6.
    - My Guild is experiencing those massive Lags during dailies for days, even weeks now.

Those lags are appearing in pve areas, mostly during fights with dungeon bosses. Last week we had a Hel rah hardmode run. During endboss fight, just before he prepares to cast his aoe (~35%), screen froze for whole raid! We waited maybe 5-10 sec, then fight continued. But meenwhile, boss seemed to jump to next aoe phase, in which healing must be applied. But since all of us just got up from the first hit, we instantly died....
    Just one example of many!
Cyrodil fights ends the same way. Sometimes, after fighting maybe for 5-10 min (20 player raid), to get a keep or defend one and lag festival all time, all get a game crash at the same time. After reloging, there are a lot of people spawning at south gate (DC) (not only our guys!). That`s realy no fun anymore! Its just unplayable and i realy have to criticize ZOS for the way, they handle this situation, since its going on for weeks now!

What fixes did we get with those last patches? more XP for trials? oO
Some siege weopons at cyrodil dolmen? oO
Crown Store consumables can now be used while silenced.
Hyperlinks are now clickable for in-game legal documents
    etc...

I dont know, but seeing server performance that low for several weeks, and reading those patch notes, makes me feel a bit weird...

As i said before, if workload on servers explodes, because of opening AOE caps (especialy in pvp areas), then get them back! Better caps on it, then a server, that doesnt work!

Doesn`t matter if its is fixed today or tomorrow or in some weeks, but an announcement from time to time of the progress in that area, would help community to see, that something is happening! Or even some minor performance patches from time to time.

How about you just fix this crap? It's happening in all the dailies at peak times. The answer is obvious. Dedicate more server power to the daily dungeon instances, because evidently the current hardware cannot handle it.

@ZOS_MollyH can the tech team make all this information part of the bug report.
Seems very very silly that this info isnt automatically generated by the game for a bug report a spart of the process.
It is also much easier for the system to take a snapshot thna it is for the user to gather all the info and enter/exit bug reports to do so.
You also get guaranteed accurate information without the typos...like this.
