I'm currently testing out a possible fix for this that has to do with Windows Defender. I saw a post that contained this fix yesterday but cannot currently locate it again. If your using an Antivirus Program like Mcafee or Norton you can turn Windows Defender off or you can add in ESO as an exception to it. I have only gone through one dungeon so far and the lag that I had was minimal. It was Wayrest Sewers which I haven't really noticed much lag on before so that's why I'm still testing it out.
It couldn't hurt to give it a try.

I believe it does hurt, because it detracts from the real problem. This is just some more victim blaming typical of support services (e.g. "have you reset your router, sir?"). You'd have to work very hard to convince me that this is a client-side problem when all members in a group experience the issue at the same time, and the problems in PvE have piled up since the 1.6 and 2.0 patches.
After reading many of these threads describing lag in vet dungeons, I am convinced that it is a time of day thing. Which means that it is probably a server load problem.
Being in an Asian time zone, I usually do the gold key daily at a time of day that is about as far away from US primetime as it gets. And I haven't experienced any lag whatsoever while doing these dungeons.
Client crashing, yes, but not lag. And crashing (mine at least) seems completely random anyways.

It worked fine until a recent patch - so its a *** ZOS problem with bad coding and poor patch testing.
Sorry to jab after ZOS like this, but they are making Things worse with every patch.
Its like they fix 1 thing, and create 2 new issues. A few weeks ago we had no PVE lag.
And in the beginning PVP ran great with the double amount of players.
Now its all FUBAR

When reporting lag issues in a consistent repeatable area like this, in order to investigate it properly, please be sure to not only submit a /bug ticket with the following information, but please feel free to answer these questions here so we can forward the information along to get the best information we can for our engineers.
- What is the character name you are on when experiencing this? (if it's more than one, please use the one specifically related to the rest of the questions)
- What realm you are playing on when this occurs? (EU or NA)
- Where are you when this happens? (zone name and general location within that zone. If you are in a delve or public dungeon you are not in Greenshade for example, you are in another zone - please list as specifically as possible where you are!)
- When is the EXACT time it occured? ‘Around 5 maybe?'is not accurate enough to research, but ‘Saw it at 5:34PM EST’ is. Also, please be sure to check your clock to make sure it is set accurately. If your 5:34 PM EST is really 5:50PM EST then we may be investigating the wrong time.
- What were you doing, and what did you see? Please provide a description. If you are in the middle of a lag spike, do a /say and report how that went as /say is the easiest way to ping the server and get an expected response. It can also be searched by our developers, so is even more helpful.
Thank you again for letting us know!
