Dual wield

Hi everyone.

After reading loads of post, mostly about nightblade but also others.
There are way to many who claims Dual wield is not good/worthless.

Is this true? I am not talking about being "the best". For instance, 1H and shield works great now for me as a tank.

But I am considering an alt and dual wield interests me. High burst/single target damage and with debuffs on their target if I understand it?

Is this weapon skill really that bad as for example swinging with 1 weapon and do nothing with a shield is better?

What is wrong with it?

It is not bad, it is as bad as all weapons compare to magic damages.

Btw Dual Wield got problems, like Quick Attacks (2th skill) which is basicaly our biggest DPS skill that can't crit (at least since 1.1.2)

There is also an issue involving sneak attacks. The Dual Wield heavy attack deals less damage compare to a Sword&Board heavy while stealthed, wich is probably a bug.

Thats what I was trying to find out.
Dual wield straight in the face of the enemy, none sneak attack must be one of the better damages?

If its not, I imagine it gets fixed when it comes to that.

flurry and its morphs are subpar. whirlwind spam works. blood crazy is fairly nice ( for a weapon skill), i cant comment on flying blade since its nerf.

personally i find 2 hander more useful. but thats from a stunlock perspective. cycling ambush and wrecking blow. and the insane crits from wrecking blow from stealth

Problem with weaponskill builds outside staff is that stamina builds have no survivability skills.

All your major survival skills are magicka based. Light armor lets you use them more often.

No survival is fine. I am talking about pure damage. The "survival" is my ability to not get hit, get healed and trust my tank.

I am going to pick dual wield for my first ever alt in MMOs. And my plan is an all out damage. Not hidden. That I am very easy hurt, I just see as a tradeoff.

Get your weapon damage above the soft cap, hunding's rage set, glyph of rage/crushing and possibly flawless dawnbreaker and... surprise! suddenly flurry doesnt suck anymore.

Ok, so Duel wield is not worthless? This is what I am trying to find out. Not the best or anything, but after so many posts from so many people on these forums that Dual wield isnt an option, I had to ask the question. And try myself.

all those things buff the rest of the line also. so its still subpar

just saying flurry is subpar isn't accurate.

its better dmg per stamina than hidden blade which I assume youre comparing it to.

if stamina sustain is not a problem, range to boss is not an issue, and procs due to more hits are not part of the build, then hidden blade is more raw dps according to elite dw'ers.

if stamina cant sustain and range is close (8m or less), flurry wins in longer fights. also looks way cooler.

cap is also easier to reach for sorc and dk. so class comes into play on getting the most out of dw. otherwise stacking flawless dawnbreaker and hundings BOTH might help, but the math shows they don't help the full value of their toolips due to how much weapon dmg coefficients affect the actual end ability damage
