IMO, if I can't tell a bot is a bot, then I just don't care.

Its the ones using hacks like subterranean travel, flying, speed-walking and teleporting with which I had issues.

I`m new to Mmo games and maybe there are some unwritten rules I`m not aware of..
Here is my problem I really don`t understand:
Today I went back to Bleakrock Isle to collect some stuff for crafting ( I did so before like 5 or 6 times) someone whispered to me in a "really nice" way that I´m a Boter. I was like "What is a ..... Boter" 10 minutes after that the Chat went a bit crazy saying I `m a boter and everybody should be aware of that. So this time I wrote back, just to get more "nice answers"....

Is it a unwritten rule to not going back to Areas I`ve finished to collect ?
I`m a usual Player as everybody, I`ve seen some People doing exactly the same...
So what am I doing wrong that I bother these Players ?
I just collect stuff, I don`t replay the Bossfights, I help people if I can, so what is going on there ?

I don`t like cheaters or People that playing around in the Gamefiles so why does People think that I do so ?

Welcome to MMOs. Just like real life, there are many idiots around, you happened to meet one.

And just like in real life, dont worry too much about them and keep doing your thing and having fun.

He thought you were botting because, being paranoid, he is seeing bots everywhere. ;)

Are you a templar, wearing soul shriven gear and spamming puncturing strikes/biting jabs... with three plus others following you spamming the same skills...? lol then I wouldn't worry about what some fool says.
Curious but how do you spam that now? You seem to know everything about a templar so i would love to hear this one out.

In starting areas the bots are pretty bad. I went to collect an item in the vet starting area (for me it was in the Ebonheart Pact) and a bot farmer quite literally came out of the ground and harvested it at the same time I did, took it, and disappeared. It was like a freakish diglet.

But the starting areas are also the best to gather alchemy stuff. I always gather in Stros M'kai and im VR12. /shrug

It's your character name that might be perceived by some as a random set of letters which is typical for many bots we see in game.

Just ignore anyone who thinks you're cheating, specially if they insult you directly. What the player that accused you fail to see was that unlike most resource bots, your character was veteran level and didn't follow an exact pattern of resource gathering. Usually, bots follow a pattern or even worse, teleport between resources. Once I even saw a hard to see (and report) bot hiding inside geometry, teleporting around and collecting resources.

Game masters have other more sophisticated methods of checking for bots so you shouldn't worry about being mistaken for cheating. Traveling to low level area for resource gathering is more then OK since you don't have to worry about mobs, however you sometimes get plenty of bots for competition.

Ah i see your name is Siussaidh.
It sounds exotic to me, but it may sound bottish to someone else.

How dare you! Even a freakish diglett is cuter than a bot! No comparison!

But I am sorry the bot took your harvest. :anguished:

Farming can often e mistaken for botting.

Also, your character name/account name might have an effect.
Somebody who named a Kajiit "Mwwwr" for RP reason says he is regulary mistaken for a bot.
A few people tried the "your name sounds like a bot" approach of trolling agaisnt me back in the start of the game.

The usually easiest way is to answer /whispers. Bots rarely answer whispers, except maybe to give you goldspam messages. If somebody keeps calling you are bot in /zone he is propably trolling you and can be reported for insulting content.
There is NO point in talking with goldspammers/bots. If he is talking with you he knows you are not one.
