Really? The entire adventure we were scheming against him. And what about the cell that we freed the prophet from? Doesnt it require someone to be in there? Cant free one person without offering someone else? Why didnt Molag bal just leave her in there and be like "Good job nerds, but youll never assemble all 5 companions ever again!"

They kind of talk about these things.
The most important lesson to learn from games like these and other more resonable fantasy RPG world is , gods are gods , you dont just win against a god , which is why you did all this crap and in the end , molag bal never trully lost hehe.
Which makes perfect sense , hey look , a small and weak being that lived like 20/30 years ... is trying to outsmart me a god with a huge number of years (honestly i have no idea how old they are , but they are OLD , really old) + incredible powers ... yeah good luck with that little one :P."Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity."

You stopped his plane meld and you beat the **** out of him. You brought the Lord of Domination and Brutality to his knees. Literally. I call that a win in my book. yeah you cant kill a Daedric Prince, but you got the next best thing.0
