Merge The Veterans

What's the point of keeping veterans from different factions separate when we gain access to the other factions' zones, and we are able to do their quests?

Suggestion
Since we cannot play saboteur, and we must play the other factions' quests as an ally, I propose merging the veterans from all factions. This will allow veterans, regardless of faction, to group, quest, run dungeons, and play together in vet zones—essentially doing what was only possible with players from their own faction during levels 1-49.

Benefits
- Increases the population of veteran zones
- Meet, group, and play with other players from other factions

What about home zones?
Your faction's home zones have nothing to offer a vet because content is aimed at non-veterans. I propose turning your faction's zones into veteran areas as well; perhaps with the option to return to normal mode zones if one wishes to do so.

There's room for improvement on this idea, so your thoughts, comments, and suggestions are welcome.

Interesting idea, but the problem is that, in the current design, a certain zone has a different level for different faction.

Indeed. Veteran zones would have to be re-done.

yeah, a complete rework would be required. Auridon to me is not the same auridon AD nooblets are in. It goes beyond justn being a phase.

I'm sure it goes way beyond that as well, there are probably far larger implications on the backend that rely on it being that way.

Or a better idea. Let the Veterans of the home fraction pvp the invaders. :)

The Glenumbra I'm in looks and plays no different except the mobs take longer to kill and there are no harvesting bots and I can get all the ore and plants I need.

As far as I can see, the only content not in the VR runs through the zones are the one-off quest chains from the Guilds and Main Story.

Open world PVP would kill this game off faster than ZOS are doing with their bungled patches that break more than they fix and other inept game management issues.

Should of downscaled to the other factions zone level instead of the current system. This would of worked better and kept the zones fuller for both vet players and newer players.

Keep those AD scum away from me!

And no to downscaling. I like getting stronger and not weaker.

One solution to make veteran zones more interesting is to get a whole lot more vp points for taking out enemies.

Short of scrapping vet zones and sacrifice all the vet players, i dont see a practical way out of this

You cannot rework the current set up without massive code changes. The best bet going forward is to permit an open Veteran Zone that isn't gated by faction.

So you would have the future "Craglorn" type release open to all V+ level members and not just gates by faction.

You could then group up with members of the other alliances for content, or fight along side of them (non grouped) for zone bosses, etc.

They could even put in an area set aside for Arena battles where you could go 1v1, 2v2, or 5v5 against each other members from other alliances.

You cannot redo home zones to be Veteran levels without impacting all of the 1-50 players by putting all of that content out of their range, so that would never happen.

@Pele‌ Even as the (mainly) solo player that I am I agree with the idea's you presented. On a side note I do think the original faction choice should still matter when you enter Cyrodiil.

    That's a good idea.

As for home factions, I don't think the normal mode zones [those aimed at players from level 1-49] should be touched; rather, have a veteran mode option for your own faction. Veteran zones for one's own faction already exist, but you're unable to access them due to the way it's setup.

I'm not sure how it would all work exactly, just throwing out ideas.

    Why stop there?

Make ESO an open world PVP game with no newbie safety zones! No level cap PVP! VR12 and bored? Go smoke lowbies to your hearts malefic content.

Add faction aggro, if you don't work up faction reputation expect to be beaten to a pulp!

Certainly is painful, if you played EQ you can stop quivering from PTSD now. 8)

What in the world are you going on about? My suggestion has nothing at all to do with PvP.

Absolutely not. This is not a pvp game. This is a MMO RPG. You want to pvp -go ahead. Do not force me to. I have zero interest in fake fighting a fat teenage boy thousands of miles away from me.

    No.

Aggree with 100% of what op proposes, or a minor variant of it. My gut feeling however, tells me the chance of this happening : 100% impossible

If only. As a player that normally always plays on any open world PvP servers Id love it if ESO had a PvP server...lol
