I'm still in CH doing quests and I'm not getting any experience from killing enemies or finishing quests. I'm totally not having a good time right now. I read the mail that was sent and it says to finish the main quest but I don't have a main quest to finish, So I chug along gaining no xp at all. How do I progress?

Once you finish the quests in cold harbor:
The one were you and Vanus, Meridia, The Alyied King, Gabriele, and the Fighters guild guy take on Molag.

You will be given a quest to return to the Harborage. Complete that quest and then Cadwell thanks you by sending you back in time to be a traitor.

Now you have to earn VP instead of XP to progress. It's so lame they turn off the xp gain when you hit VR..

I still had content to do in my native alliance and in coldharbor and doing that yields no xp.. Nor does killing mobs in coldharbor..

VR1 is a wake up call.. Before that the game was awesome...

You still gain xp when you kill mobs in cold harbor at vr1. That xp goes toward your skill trees though. As a VR, you need vp (veteran points) to level your char and attributes. You can only get that after cold harbor or in craiglorn. Try and port to someone in craiglorn if you havent yet killed molag bal. Let us know if its possible lol.

A lot of ppl hit vr1 in cold harbor, myself included. You are not alone.

My main 4 "skill trees" were all level 50 by coldharbour... so coldharbour was useless to me... I "dinged" VR1 on the 3rd coldharbour quest

You don't get sent back in time, you just go to different zones with a guise to make it seem like you're not the hero or part of another alliance. Proof of this is because cadwell says it and also the spindle clutch quest giver remembers you for helping him the first time.

You can go to craglorn without finishing the main quest as long as you are VR1. In fact you don't even have to port to anyone. Just go to your main factions capitol(Wayrest for DC, Elden Root for AD, not sure for EP check 2nd zone) find the quest giver(Near stables for both DC and AD) and take the carriage.

I doubt that. Its a small window of oportunity in a chars life that this would even be possible. Has anyone done it with an alt or reroll? Any dev care to clear this up?

I didnt have any new quest marker or indication telling me about the craiglorn quest when I was vr1 last week in cold harbor : /

I don't see why you wouldn't be able to go to Craglorn then... It's not related to the main quest.

You have to actually go to he faction's capital city and look for the dude by the cart... There is a quest marker on him. In Mournhold, he is behind he building with the bank.

Deshaan, Mournhold. On the road in town between city center and crafting if I recall right. I pass him on my way to the forge.

Dont know if you need to have Molag Bal dead.

I could swear doing quests gives you XP towards your veteran levels no matter where those quests are. A VR1 character won't get any XP from killing mobs in a level 15 zone because of the level difference, but completing a quest there increases your veteran XP normally.

Ok, so when you finish the main quest, you'll be VR1? Does that mean that all the enemies in traitor territory are also that level, or do the enemies and quest stay their default levels?

All this grief people are getting from veteran ranks makes me not want to get there...and I'm close. :'(

You have to reach level 50 to turn into VR1, has nothing to do with the quest. Finishing the main quest just allows you to enter Veteran Content. I have actually seen lvl 43 guys in Veteran Zones.

The mobs all get bumped up to the Vet Rank of the zone. So the Silver Zones have V1-V5, and the Gold Zones have V6-V10. All the quests are the exact same as if you would roll an alt in that new faction. The only quests that are no longer present are the Main Quest and the Fighters/Mages Guild quests.

I have been doing quests in the alliance war zone since they change everything to vet five to help my vet leveling.

Could go there till you finish the main quests.

Correct, on most points. Just one thing I'd like to clarify. SOME (though VERY few) quests and dialogues are mildly different in VR versions of the zones. For example, there was one quest in the Dominion zones where you're helping Azura. You end up releasing and binding some sort of flying daedra, which
only pretends to help you, betraying you later on. She's actually a servant of Molag Bal. When she mentions him and how she's going to kill you or whatever it is she threatens, in the VR zone you have the option of saying that you knocked out a few of the Daedric prince's teeth not long ago.
