"We have lots more planned for ESO beyond the above—Update 3 is scheduled to arrive sometime in July. It will focus on player customization systems like armor dyeing, guild insignias and tabards, and it will also be the start of the rework of our delves (smaller dungeons) to make them much larger and give them more worth exploring.
We’re also starting to re-work many quests in the game so we can greatly reduce the chances of you being separated from your party in different "layers" as you explore Tamriel. This is an ongoing effort, but you’ll see the problem alleviated over the course of the summer. We’ll also introduce more Veteran Dungeons, another area of Craglorn with an all-new Trial, and much, much more. Stay tuned for details."
The first thing that stands out to me is that there is no solo content coming in update 3. Now this is only going by what is said here and it may prove to be completely wrong, they may add some solo-player stuff ! Yes they mentioned expanding the delves but lets face it they should have been bigger in the first place !
(I certainly hope they don't go 3 updates with no solo content)
Guild insignias and tabards... cool. That'll add some nice visual improvement. Might even help with immersion (I'm sure the role-play guys will approve). Hopefully this will also tie-in with any future guild halls/housing we get.
I'm happy to see they are also approaching the problems with phasing. This has caused issues with players/groups since launch. I appreciate this process is by no means easy, I just hope they sort this sooner, rather than later.
More veteran stuff coming, well was kinda obvious really.
But hey... more end-game content is more end-game content and every MMO needs that. They also mention a 'new' area of Craglorn. I hope Zenimax realise the great opportunity this gives them to also add some solo player end-game content ! !
(not all max level players are groupies, please realise this and make content for all the player base)
•Itemization – we’ll add gear that’s harder to acquire but more worthwhile. We're looking at gear that will make others envious when you’re wearing or wielding it—both in appearance and in stat boosts. To do this, we’ll adjust soft caps so that they don't kick in quite as quickly. We have to be very careful about how much we adjust numbers, because the greater the variance, the more people can hurt their intended builds.
Hmm.. that sounds to me like they mean gear that is found in-world not crafted. I just hope they don't start adding gear that is greater than anything craftable ! One of the main premises of ESO was that crafters would always be able to make the best gear. We'll have to wait and see on this one, but I'm not hopefull.
•Veteran Ranks - we're looking at giving you more "points" to spend when you hit a Veteran Rank. This is at a very, very early stage, but essentially, we want to keep the great customization you have for your character from 1-50 and allow you to continue augmenting it in meaningful ways. Our goal is to let you have many more fun character development decisions post level 50.
FINALLY ! Players have been complaining about this since launch. VR always felt a bit cheap, you were given the new mega-grind levelling of VR but you got almost nothing for it. You worked your butt of getting to the next level and got... well nothing really (just a new VR number). Can't begin to say hope happy I am they are adding this. Finally VR level players will have something to feel good about.
And now... finally.... I saved the best till last (IMO)... Armour Dying !
Firstly I am totally pleased to see Zenimax putting their money where their mouth is and announcing something along with a date/schedule.
Now from the picture it seems that we will be getting a new 'Dying' Station. I really like this idea, it adds a kind of immersion, like the existing crafting stations you will get a feel of actually being at the station working. The actually dying system seem very reminiscent of that used in Guild Wars 2. BUT don't think of that as a cop-out.. GW2 had one of the best dying systems I'd ever used. If Zenimax manage to pull off something even nearly as good it will be 'great' !
It looks as though each gear piece will have 3 dye slots, a main, and 2 secondary (main colour and trim colours) witch means people are going to have sooooo many options when it comes to making their characters look individual.
The colours themselves look like they come in bands (or spectrums). Each band seems to have multiple shades that can be used. This means that it will take time to get all the colours, but I'm ok with that. Anything that gives longevity to the game is fine by me. I can already see a massive market for the pure versions of Black and White dyes (they have always been the most wanted colours)
I really like the section that seems to allow a player to save a certain colour set. This could come in very useful for those who (like me) always wear a certain set of colours.
All in all I have to say that July seems to be a month worth waiting for. I'm sure the cynics will say this is just more carrot dangled in front of us to try and hold on to another months subs (and in part you may be right). But, I have to say this somehow has a feeling of sincerity about it. Maybe its the fact that Zenimax have chosen to show so commitment by giving a date along with the blog. Maybe its the fact that a lot of July's update seems to offer a lot of what players here on the forums have been constantly asking for.
Well done to Zenimax for stepping up to the plate, showing some commitment and apparently listening. And hopefully they won't go back on these plans.
Either way, I have to say that the road ahead seem a little more inviting.

1) Does this mean lowbies won't have the ability to apply the dye or is it account wide?
2) I would say fix the classes / stam/ weapon builds first before adding in such requirements. As has been posted before, alot of people don't want someone in group that they have to drag through the trial cause of low DPS ect... I understand anyone can respec to light armor/ staffs, but they shouldn't have to. IMO the achievements used should be something anyone can accomplish, be it in group or solo.

Crafting should be viable and powerful. but tnot the only end game itemization. i would prefer they put Set gear recipes on trial mobs and force people to actually do content or barter with those that have the skills to do said content.Well having recently made a post about the past "Road Ahead" blog Zenimax decide to out-do me and release a new one... so lets have a look at some of their longer term plans....

Other then that the update looks promising but the fact that into july they have no intentions of addressing the borken scaling of armor passives forcing end game players to wear light. and no word of the sub standard melee skills. im pretty sure they will be updating to a niche population that does not even give two *** about PVE or end game.
And i dont see any new solo content or VR nerfing or groupable main quest on that list.ayriennub17_ESO wrote: »The only thing I see that bothers me about this update is in the armor dyeing pic. Looks to me like it says that black come from weekly trial achievement.

Theives guild and Assasins guild, along with the justice system kind of slipped off the road ahead then. They were what I was most looking forward to. I now expect them to be part of a charged expansion, that brings us another 10 VR levels of pain and missery.
First of all, it's Thieves Guild and the Dark Brotherhood. If you want the content so badly, at least know what they're called and how to spell them.
Secondly, they already set a time frame for the justice system release, and it's probably going to be next year. This specific "Road Ahead" update was about next month's updates.
Was it officially announced that dyes would be achievement point purchasable?
I may be wrong but I'm sure that was only speculation by us.
I wouldn't mind if they were drops from the game-world although a mixture of drops and purchasable (from NPC) was implemented would be better.
Could make the common dyes drops (or even mats from deconstruct) and the rarer ones could be brought with achievement points. Also they should be 'Bind on Account'
That at least would make it so the gold sellers and price exploiters would be cut out and stop them from spamming the market.
