Zenimax...whats with the black border around the screen crap?

Alright, so I been off game recently doing other stuff and I started it up today and now I got this annoying border around the screen. I changed some settings on my computer before, so I thought at first it was that, so I reverted the change and still the border is there. I don't know what this is, I have no trouble with anything else except from ESO with this.

Should I try uninstalling game and then doing a full reinstall from the site? If so, I wont have to buy a key for the game again, will I, being a subscriber and all?

How about a screenshot - Help yourself out!

*edit* also, try using fullscreen windowed mode - if it's what I think it is.

You wont haev to buy another copy or key just because you reinstall a game. But for this issue you shouldn't need to, at least not at this point in troubleshooting. I would check the video settings in game and check the full screen vs full screen windowed like suggested, but I also suggest if you can't get it yourself easily to contact their customer support as they might know the EXACT cause or can quicker assist you.

It is low health indicator. Turns red when low on health

no you don't need to buy the game again.
my guess is that it is a gfx driver issue tho.

    just my two cents

Hey, yea thanks, fullscreen windowed mode worked...I don't understand why regular fullscreen has gone strange though. You got any insight on that? Only I always played in fullscreen, as in the first option since the last two months or when I got the game. I'm confused about this. I had a similar issue on another game in late 2013 when I had to start playing in a different resolution because of its latest expansion...I feared to was the same with this so I tried every resolution before making this thread. Good to know something fixes it though as I hate borders in games. The size of my monitor should be the border and only the size of my monitor.

You said that you have been away. The last patch since then changed full screen mode. Now you can run it true FS or windowed FS. That is all.

I'm not entirely sure. My video drivers have a lot of high resolution settings and everything I pick has the black border unless I use windowed mode. I have 15 to 30+ frame rate boost when using windowed mode as well. Likely something they need to work out still.

Afaik before Craglorn "Fullscreen" was actually "Windowed Fullscreen", with no real fullscreen mode. This caused issues with SLI not working (it needs real fullscreen), so they now give us all 3 options and changed previous settings to real Fullscreen.

Caused soem temporary issues with dual monitor setups too, til they were set to windowed fullscreen.

95% of the time if you have video related artifacts or issues, you need to update your video drivers to the latest and greatest. This also goes for framerate problems, crashing, etc. For video gaming its pretty much the numero uno thing to check and update before all else.

Yeah, but entirely not the case here.
