Ive gone for making alts the reason for this is that i would have prefered to do with alts if it ment the vet grind was less of a pain.

Id rather do it over alts and be fully aware of my own choice rather than been forced to do it as its been implemented in this game

I hardly make alts, in all other MMO's I played I have one main where I want to complete most of the content.

Definitely alts since I can't stand playing one style for too long in a row, I need to change often between alts to keep the game fun. So I prefer to play alts in different factions so the difference is not only the build I play with, but also the questline apart from the main and guild lines.

    i would actually do both.

i have a main character with which i complete everything - absolutely everything.

i then have multiple alts with separate purposes and builds designed to fulfill those purposes.

if this is in regard to the VR+ and VR++ "other faction" content - then yea, it sucks, it should be optional, not mandatory and it shouldn't have 10VR levels bolted onto it.

edit: in previous games, i would roll alts to experience other faction content - but given the option to do it all on one character, i would (on my main). however, the ability to reroll alts and get them to max level is severely affected by the current setup. ideally i'd like to have 1 of each class at max level.

Nothing stop any from making alts in all factions.
This even work better than in WOW as you can transfer gold and items even bound items between alts.

One idea might be to unlock the second veteran alliance at say VR5 or VR10 without having to do the faction quest line.
This have RP issues, granted that is diferent from zone to zone, AD VR1 and 2 is few problem but AD VR3 in shadowfern you mainly fight Dominion.
You could still explore and do the misc quests
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

I'm doing alts, that way not only do I do all three stories, but multiple classes too.

Alts - hands down no question about it. This is how I am playing the game. Unfortunately, the devs don't seemingly have any plans in their roadmap to keep people like me playing for long.

All future content looks to be geared for the other half of the player base. I will have 8 lvl 50s before I will ever have even a single VR2. My guess is that by the time I get 6 of those (2 characters through each of the alliance faction/story lines) done, I will be ready to let my subscription lapse.

I was hoping the end game might be more like exploring the vast different planes of Oblivion or some such. Replaying content that my other characters have already experienced is definitely not going to keep me around.

Even though I know people complain about the Vet content being lazy it's not. It was a way for people who wanted to experience everything on one character to be able to level in the vet areas. People who want to make alts can still use PvP and Craglorn to level.

@Falmer I have taken the same view. ZoS clearly do not want our type of player. The implementation of the puke palette for sub-vet armour was the last straw for me. I do not begrudge vets 'good' armour, but I do resent being made to feel like a second class citizen.

For the record - when the first of my characters hit veteran my view on this did not change. However, the tedium was too much for me and I have abandoned 'progress' on that character and am currently playing on another.
ZoS Ambassadors please do not bother responding to me because I have you on ignore. Your input is neither valued or welcomed.

I would have loved to level alts but I already completed all content with 1 char and having to go through all that again, seems too steep at this time. Maybe in a few months I can tackle it again. The game is just too big for alts in my opinion.

6 characters, all three factions. One rule, no traitors to faction without a rationale, ie Argonian who hates Dark Elves and isn't connected to the Hist. No interest in VR. At all. Unless there are radical changes. Not that it bothers me either, I never max out in other Elder Scrote Games either.
I* learned this word alt (as well as toon) only in the last 2 months. ESO has brought 2 types of gamers together. Some do both I know, like me now. But just as I don't follow my Morrowind/OB/Skyrim tactics, neither should wow vets. I see so many blinkered toons missing the game. We are so Ostrich-like at times.

My preference would have been somewhere within the 5 years development and $200,000,000 spend we might have got a proper continuation of the story that took us into the other areas. With new challenges and new enemies.

The trouble with not doing the VR questing is you don't get the skyshards.

Hi! My name is Perchta and I am an Alt-aholic.

I have 8 characters, play them all. I have deleted 5 builds that I took up to 15, decided they didn't work and deleted them. Plus 3 that I deleted because once in game in normal world light I didn't like the way they looked.

If Zeni were to start selling character slots today I would buy a minimum of 2 but most likely 6

I prefer running the other content on an alt, I still like the concept of playing other factions on the same character. It's the same reason I enjoy doing the same content over again in skyrim, each of my characters had a personality/alignment/etc and handles certain situations differently.

My only complaint is that there aren't more lasting effects for choices, I don't mind (and enjoy it even) running Stonefall over again ob my VR AD character, but I want more decisions to change the storyline since this character had no sense of justice compared to my nord who ran through the content.
