Anyone else notice Crescent Sweep (Templar Aedric Spear ultimate) sometimes totally misses, even when you are right on top of the mob? Is it supposed to be that way - where there's a chance to miss? Or Is this just buggy animation/hit detection and notification?

I have noticed I need to be right on the mob for a second then hit the button. If I hit the button while running to a mob it may not hit even if you are in range when the animation begins.
Conversely, if I hit the button while in range of a mob, then move away, it will still hit the mob even if the animation starts when I am clearly out of range.
So yes this is just a delay between the skill activating and its animation activating kind of thing I think.
It misses a lot for me also. I also have the problem most of the time it will hit my main target but not the guy standing on his shoulder. Unless I have totally misunderstood the skill I thought it was meant to be aoe
It seems a bit unreliable, to say the least. Like others above I tend to wait until everybody I'm fighting is definitely in range, I'm fixed in place, preferably blocking, and we've already swapped hits on each other, before triggering it. I still tend to leave this off my skill bar as a result, although the low refill rate does lead me to save it for drawn-out boss fights where I could use every extra point of damage my pathetic non-dps/stamina build self can inflict, since I can often use it several times during. A slight range increase would be welcome, although I think it's low because you can hit mobs behind you as well.
It hits all around you and only in cone in front of you for the extra damage. I also have the feeling that it doesn't hit NPC's out of balance (that thing after blocking an attack)
