It is getting old.
Glad we agree.nerevarine1138 wrote: »FourWintersage wrote: »4
Well no. Because it's maintenance.Honestly, don't you guys have anything better to do?

It also surprised me how long it takes them to actually patch their servers with updates that really....compared to other MMOs are relatively small. A handful of quest fixes and a couple of stealth nerfs shouldn't take over 4 hours of maintenance.
Of course, perhaps I am just bitter because I live in Australia, perhaps if I lived in a country with a consumer base Zenimax actually gave a damn about - I'd be fast asleep when they kept bringing the servers down, and I wouldn't care
Don't be so quick to judge. I live in the states myself, but working nights I get to spend far too much time with my Aussie brethren, and suffer through the multimaintenances each week just as they do.jayssenrwb17_ESO wrote: »Of course, perhaps I am just bitter because I live in Australia, perhaps if I lived in a country with a consumer base Zenimax actually gave a damn about - I'd be fast asleep when they kept bringing the servers down, and I wouldn't care

Right. So you're ignoring the fact that most regular maintenance periods never take the full 4 hours? I mean, it's normal. Most people who don't actually understand the need for maintenance tend to overstate the amount of downtime experienced due to maintenance. But if you focus, you'll be able to overcome that selective memory.
Australia, is a wonderful country. We pretty much owned it during the late 60's thru the 70's, well not owned, just your beautiful women. They were soooo neglected, he he.

oohhhh you must be referring to the maintenance periods where they don't actually update the game, but still need to pull down the servers for 2 hours or so. Here's what I know - there are MMO companies that can patch to live servers....there's one MMO I've played that patched large patches to the servers in under 2 hours. There's a new release MMO that is pushing out hot fixes to live servers or quite large game patches in under 1.5 hours.
But if it makes you feel better, you keep thinking that the amount of downtime compared to actual game fixes here is ok.
