As a nightblade as well, I can vouch, even when I'm inside my own keep this does happen, although I don't get ganked in my own keep, I find my stealth be broken for no reason

NPCs can see you as well. Their eyesight goes on for miles...

They could also have been stealthed, and since they could clearly see you it would be easy for them to avoid entering your detection radius. Just to echo what has already been said, this is exactly what magelight does, pops you in/out of stealth every second or two.

Keep guards have a huge detection range also. But other than magelight, and detect potions you should be pretty hard to find in all medium Armor, I know I am. if you engage in combat and dont kill your target you will be detected for about 45 seconds.

I usually never get found I actually really enjoy my sneaky assasin NB. I can pretty much open up with Suprise Attack Sneak attack and take anyone out any target, even vet 12 Dks and i am only Vet3.

NPC detection radius is huge and it takes a long time to reacquire stealth sometimes after getting agro. Can be quite a pain when you agro an NPC, go invisible, and move to a safe spot, only to be seen by a player because you are still detected by that NPC 2 miles away.
