Personally, I put all of my attribute points into health.
    Let me explain why.

Attribute Points and Armor Enchantments give a bonus 50% to health when you use them, for example if your enchantment would give 66 to magicka and stamina, it would give 99 to health. As a result, placing all your attribute points into health gives an extra 250 points you wouldn't get for magicka or stamina.

However, temporary food buffs do NOT give this 50% bonus.
Therefore, I use honey pudding to increase my magicka and stamina, because its less efficient to use food that boosts your health.

Originally, I had all of my attribiutes in magicka, and used magicka/health food.
When I switched to attributes in health and magicka/stamina food,
I lost about 100 magicka but gained nearly 400 health, and the extra stamina meant I had more cc-breaks.

Ultimately, it dramatically increased my survivability in combat.

It's usually best to make sure you have a lot of the passives activated, which means you're going to need to level light armor to get the most out of those pieces.

Otherwise, you'll see a decrease in your armor rating with no passives to make up for it.
