Mark target

Is this supposed to be a PvE only skill because the graphic on it is horrible for PvP. If I mark someone they automatically go defensive because it's such a huge telegraph saying I AM COMING FOR YOU! Why do they get notification that I have targeted them? At least don't give them the heads up until after I start fighting them. It really destroys the skill when people automatically try to stealth (in case you don't have Piercing Mark) and just hold block until you initiate or use their escape abilities and just get out of there. If anything make the graphic on them invisible and put a graphic on me so they know that I am the one who marked them that way I can open up on someone who has no clue I've marked them.

Yeah I feel for you and agree. When I get marked I know every enemy around sees a giant pillar of red light on me and it's time to gtfo and regen for a minute.

I get where you're coming from. This really is an assassination setup skill, and it isn't much of an assassination if the target knows when you're going to attack. Kind of defeats the very purpose of stealthy approach.

I know what you're saying it's silly to let people know so clearly they are being targeted, it's not much of an assassination if you know you're about to be killed. That said, I love putting it on someone and watching their group spend 15 mins looking for me while I sneak past them, go through the gate and make it to the keep I was heading for.

Hah, I will admit it is definitely good for that but that doesn't really help us out except when we need a little bit of a giggle. I ripped one guy i think it was yesterday who was alone and like 6 of his buddies saw me but I got back into stealth pretty quick, instantly 6 mage lights come on and they fan out but Dark Stalker perk ftw... got me the heck out of there and I just watched them bolt/run around for a while.

And actually @cjmarsh725b14_ESO I'm not sure your mark is visible to other players. I'm pretty sure the only person who sees the mark is you and your target because I've been marked and I asked my friend over the mic if he saw it and he didn't see the pillar. I've also seen nightblades do a casting animation and nothing else comes out and since I saw no speed burst it couldn't have been Path so I assumed they marked someone. I wouldn't mind my teamates seeing the mark but the enemy should not but I really wouldn't care if it was invisible to all but me. Hell I would even love for it to be combined with Path of Darkness and have them leave a trail behind them for me to track that speeds me up!

Yeah it was a very poor decision giving marked target that sore thumb of an effect on the target. In PVP it rarely good for more than a deterrent, to make a single target back off and hide. While on occasion that can be useful, more often than not you are better off slotting something else in its place.

Not often am I able to mark and get the jump on someone effectively. Unless they crouch and think that they are hidden, but my morph can see pass that, so meh. Other then that it is good when they are on horseback since there is usually a response delay from most players

This skill needs to not de-buff the night blade. It also needs to be a beacon that states oh look I can do a lot more damage to this target, that all his allies can see.

I personally do not mind the personal debuff, it makes the skill way more interesting. You can't just spam it on everyone you fight (well you can't anyways cause the magicka cost is pretty damn high) because if you pop it on another DPS they could rip you up pretty bad. If the debuff was taken away then the debuff it gives the enemy would be reduced most likely.

I like knowing I'm marked. I do run off from battle but sometimes of to an easy place to get ganked. All depends on the size of the battle. In an even matched med sized fight there are usually a handful of low brows that will chase me for the easy kill an weaken their main front. I'll switch to resto staff and kite them as long as I can. A long slow circle right back to my mates.

    Of course you do...

To the OP, I agree. In my opinion, either remove the incredibly obvious animation or remove the debuff to the caster because having both takes away from any usefulness that the skill would have.

Magelights aren't visible while stealthed, atleast I have never seen anyone. The pets I rarely ever see anymore but c'mon.. that is an oversight by ZOS. Make the fluff pets go invisible atleast. The normal pets one should probably have a morph and be your "stealth pet" or some armor set or something.. pets very badly need some love.

Cool, but this is a thread about Mark Target, not Magelight or pets...

He's talking about the vanity pets. And if you're trying to stealth in PvP with your monkey or mudcrab or whatever out, you kind of deserve to be noticed. Totally agree with you about the summons though.

So here you go. Mark someone. When he blocks to counter, use the stealth snipe attack to kill his friend. Then mark said friend just before they die and get a buff kill original blocker who is now probable all berserkergang on you for killing his buddy.
