Zenimax--why are all of your descriptions so vague?

taylorwilenskiub17_ESO
Everything Zenimax has pushed out thus far has terribly vague descriptions.

Their patch notes are incredibly vague and their in-game descriptions even more vague. There is confusion with many abilities due to their lack of explanation. Crafting materials need a more detailed description stating what tier they are used for.

My biggest issue is with stat buffs on the character sheet. They all look like this:

Mundus Stone: Increases 'X'

Food Buff: Max health & Magika Increased

Molten Weapons: Weapon Damage Increased

Why do you hate numbers Zenimax? Does it go against your so called 'immersion' philosophy? Show us some numbers and accurate statistics! Not this vague crap that 'X' is increased...we want to know how much it is increased by exactly.

Your character sheet in general is pretty poor. You show the bare minimum of stats, giving players who want to know all of their characters statistics no option to do so.

If you'd like to play with spreadsheets, Microsoft has one of the best, longest-running games on the market. Excel gets a new version every year, and the numbers get bigger and better every single time.

But seriously, most buffs do have numerical values associated with them, or one can figure them out immediately by checking the character sheet. Of course, since many people don't care...

Of course they have numerical values associated with them or there would be no increase or decrease in stats. Yes, you can figure out how much they are increased by IF you pay close attention to what the stats are prior to receiving the buff. Then again, I shouldn't have to do that. A simple number showing when I hover over the buff would be simple to implement and give many players what they want so they don't have to go and do research on their own.

Gives them leeway to make changes so people don't realize at first how much they changed something. Or it's just a case of laziness. It's not like they're purposely being vague, right... right?!
Is it better to out-monster the monster or to be quietly devoured?

    Its called accountability.
I'd wager almost every announcement/thread they make has been gone over in detail by their legal dept. That was they can have no comebacks when things go wrong and they can deny saying anything exact !

    Silly comment.

The TOS means they have no liability for anything that goes wrong, you're not guaranteed any specific amount of game time per month and like all software it's presented on an 'as is' basis . if you don't like it your only recourse is stop paying the fee.

Thus there's no need for ZOS to consult lawyers on anything related to game development or running at all.

Maybe I was exaggerating a little. But Its still correct that it boils down to accountability.

    Sad, but true
