Handlepiece Idea

Because those who use two-handed weapons or staffs have less opportunity to use item sets, I had the idea that an off-hand 'handlepiece', or similar concept, be a craftable woodworking item to go in the second slot, purely for the sake of crafting sets, and possibly enchanting. It would add no or minimal armor or damage value. Thoughts/suggestions anybody?
