No crafting? No crafter friends? One of the hallmarks of Vet content is the need to upgrade almost every level.

I'm a blacksmith, and my habit on hitting each level was to run to a set crafting station...

Unfortunately this is part of the reason why the veteran level maps are deserted. The only way to progress through V2-V12 is to group up and run dungeons.

Trying to solo the maps just leads to a lot of pain as you die again and again from the powered up mobs.

Here is what I do with 2-3 mobs. So far pretty good, I am V3 in V6 zone.

1. attack archer and mage first.
2. throw shard, immediately followed by curse. This does about 1.1k damage.
3. with luck, now your shard will proc to be instant, throw it again to the first enemy.
4. with your pets, and above three spells, the mage/archer should be dead. if not follow up with another curse.
5. now deal with the melee, first, distant yourself, use bolt escape, boundless storm, destructive reach, whatever you have.
6. shard, curse, shard curse.

alternatively
1. throw volcanic rune
2. critical surge
3. frost ring, use potion if needed.

Either way, the fight will be much easier if you have atronauch or negate magic charged up.

try buff yourselves with food before the fight. You need about 2k health to survive.

Well if the PvP'ers get their way soon we will only be good for staying indoors and ironing our Robes.
So things don't look like getting any easier for us soon, in fact they will probably get harder.
