Magelight needs an animation toggle.

Not only is it the only real source of spell crit in the game it also comes with the most irritating animation of any ability ever created. Zeni either give us the ability to toggle the animation effect on/off, or allow the modders the tools to disable it.

I still see a white ball after-image floating in my eyes.

    There are about 10000 threads about this but yes. Kill the spinning blue balls for the user. You can animate whatever yo want for other players.

    In PVP, other players need to see the ball to know your a 'spoter' but it would be nice with a 'hide the ball from self' switch

    IMO, the 'inner light' morph of the ability should remove the floating ball and just apply the glowing eyes/arms effect. Makes sense according to the name, doesnt it? Inner light, comes from inside you. I'd even be ok with it being changed to allow -you- to see stealthed/invisible enemies but not revealing them for allies like the normal magelight ball does.

    Radiant magelight is fine having the ball.

    To some extent I think the ball is more useful as a deterrent in PvP than actually doing something with the detection.Users would actually suffer if it was made invisible for other players. The range is so small that a NB would still be able do serious damage with a bow or ambush and then fight. Them main purpose of the light is always the crit.

    I don't use the skill because of the animation. Yeah, it would be nice to have crit, but I find game enjoyability more important than a cookie cutter magelight.
