They nerfed ultimate gain because one class was able to exploit it.

Don't you love blanket nerfs. The only problematic ultimates in this game were DK ultimates.

What's more, they reduced the useless werewolf to a cost of 650 from 850 but now with the ultimate gain nerf it's as if they had reverted the reduction on a skill that even at 650 costed too much lol.

I thought Templars were able to exploit it as well with Radial Sweep? There were a few threads about Templars using their ultimate in a spammable way where the ultimate itself was generating enough ultimate to use it again, which is the same thing DK's were doing more-or-less.

Or was it determined that those Templars were using some other exploit and I missed the resolution?

The issue is the effect of the ultimates. Chaining an ultimate skill is not a problem if the power level accounts for it.

DK ultimates plain broke mitigation in the game and there was nothing close to their effect from other classes.

I mean, to put the other classes' ultimate on the same category isn't close to fair.

The closest other classes got were Veil of Blades from NB and Negate Magic from Sorcerer. And it still wasn't on the same ballpark of standard+corrosive armor.

ultimate generation was a problem by itself... they already tried to lessen it in last patch (decreased ultimate generation from AoE skill) and they already reduced it in the last beta stage for healers (intorduced a cap on ultimate generated per healing skill) ... now they have touched the crit... that is right since every class (with the apropriate crit&condition build) was able to use an ultimate every 3 second in aoe and recharing most of long duration (8+ second) even in single target fight... and that was for EVRY class... templar were spamming radial sweep and nova... Sorc atronach and negate magic... NB vail of blades...dk standard and magma...

standard and magma armor got a little nerf (reduced damge bonus by 15% for stendard and duration for magma... still don't know the duration reduction since I'm on EU)... those are probably not enough to bring those 2 ultimate in line with the others... but is a step forward... now we have to see if what they want is to bring up the other ultimate or bring futher down the DK ones... personaly I'll go for something in between...

The nerf wasn't good enough for you huh. it never is. Not until it is as laughable as the NPC version of standard and magma armor is just for the firey effect.

The primary problem is that ZOS really wasn't thinking when they were looking at Ultimate reduction modifiers, as well as Ultimate gain passives, and applied them willy-nilly without reflecting on what would happen.

Which, unfortunately, has been par for the course. The designers of the modifiers seem to have been not conferring with one another, so you ended up with the broken mix of Combat Frenzy, Emperor Authority, the Dragonguard set, Vampire damage mitigation and the crazy AOEs.

So while we are looking at ultimate... how about "fixing" the sudden disappearance of a charged up ultimate?
Without the player intentionally using up the points I mean... nothing sucks more than saving up for the BigBoss - only to find out that something stole my ultimate just before I really needed it.

Like I said. All you whiners need to heed this statement "be careful what you wish for".

They were thinking. The problem is you are not thinking or incapable of it. The goal for the devs is a balanced game. Not where you can be super uber OMG!!!!

They really need to reduce the ultimate cost for nova. Compared to standard it's absolute shite, but it has one of the coolest looking effects in the game.
