Lately, I've been doing a little looking around. It has come to my attention that, for whatever reason, crafted armor, worn by different classes, is different in color. A piece of heavy armor worn by templars will be lighter or more colorful than the same armor when worn by dragonknights. Other classes and armor types have such differences as well, and weapons experience this also, albeit it's less-noticeable.
Below is an example, straight from the character creation screen- the "novice gear" for a templar khajiit on top, and the "novice gear" for dragonknights on bottom.
The differences are subtle here. While the templar armor has faded red accents and is lined in gold, the dragonknight armor stays grey aside from the grey-brown accents. However, if we switch to the "veteran gear"...
The templar armor is much lighter, boasting gold and orange and silver, whereas the dragonknight armor is dark and ominous.
Armor and weapons will also gradually change color (usually get darker) as they level. A set of level 1 rawhide armor will be lighter in color than a set of level 14 rawhide armor. The example below is as follows- level 26 non-improved khajiiti heavy armor on the top, and level 34 of the same kind on bottom.
As you can see, the level 34 armor is more colorful than the level 26 armor.
On that note, some (or perhaps most) weapons armor sets and styles change color schemes as they're upgraded as well.
So, with all of that said, what are your thoughts on the matter? Until armor dye is pushed to live, we won't know if this will be avoidable or not, and while I don't particularly mind, it did confuse me for a while.
