Dark Exchange Utility Question

1. Is it correct that this roots the player?
2. Can you intentionally break the root?
3. Does it take away a percentage of your CURRENT stam? If so, couldn't you spam it?
4. If not, is it possible to run out of stam before the healing duration is completed? If so, what happens?

thx in advance.

    1- Yes, it roots you.
2- Yes, which means if you morph it for Dark Deal you still lose 11% of your hp if you interrupt the skill early.
3-No, it takes a percentage of your total stam pool. You can pull off 2 full channels with Dark Conversion.
4- Yes, it stops the skill.

It's a crappy skill because for pve mana return people use spell symmetry since it's instant, doesn't CC you, and comes with a 25% spell reduction for the next cast on top of 20% increased spell damage on your nest spell.

For healing, Critical Surge is far superior. So for this skill to be used at all, you would probably be a build without much crit chance. And sorcerer builds without crit chance are not viable.

Technically it doesn't root you, since you can move at the cost of de-activating the skill. And it is far from a crappy skill, perhaps one of the best in pvp or leveling. You're right in that it doesn't measure up to spell symmetry in terms of theorycrafting dps in end-game raids but that's virtually the only case.

    1) no it doesn't root you... you CAN move... and if you do so you interrupt the channel (that is the most used way to interrupt DE... you can also use "block" to interrupt it but moving seem more intuitive for many players)
    2) see 1
    3) no it is a % of you MAX stamina
    4) it stop... but to be noted that it drain stmaina per second... so let say that you have 30% of you max stamina (i'm using the morphed version for stamina % since I don't rember the original % of the unmorphed version)... it will tick 2 tmes normaly (12% max stamina per tick)... than you will be at 6% max stamina... not enough to fuel an additional tick... but it will non the less drain you remaining stamina and execute the third tick (so you actualy paid the 3d one only 6% of max stamina) than it will be interrupted since you couldn't pay the full cost of that tick... and there will no be a 4th tick at all

Ah good advice. Overlooking that could be painful depending on the build. @Comaetilico‌
